THE LIBERTARIAN ENTERPRISE Number 522, June 7, 2009 "They sense that the Age of Authority is over"
MSNBC, the murder of Tiller, and "domestic terrorism"
Special to The Libertarian Enterprise To all those that watched MSNBC tonight, I hope I'm not the only one who was disturbed by the callous labeling of the weekend murder of late-term abortion doctor George Tiller as "domestic terrorism". It can be argued that Maddow, Olbermann, and Co. were doing so in a manner as to disparage the neoconservative right wing by throwing around the language that they themselves are so used to using, and using it in a manner to disparage what they view as "the right wing." But it seems doubtful, especially after seeing Rachel Maddow tonight disgustingly saying tonight, essentially, "See! Janet Napolitano was completely right in her analysis of potential right-wing extremism!" She then spoke to several interviewees on "how we could possibly prevent this from happening in the future." In other words, she was suggesting the very same kind of profiling that Bush and the neocons did, and that she and her MSNBC ilk criticized fervently. Does this sound familiar? X individual with X characteristics MIGHT do this crime. Y individual with Y characteristics MIGHT do this crime. In the former case, it could be an Arab man with a large beard, quietly muttering Islamic prayers to himself on a bus or plane. Or perhaps it could be, in the latter case, a "right wing" extremist member of a radical pro-life group. Both cases are irrelevant, and thus the insanity of passing any such Orwellian police-state measures to "prevent this from happening in the future" as Maddow suggested and as Bush and Co. have done since 9/11. Such "extremist" murders, whether by a radical Arab motivated by religion or a Christian nutcase against abortion, are rare. Just as rare as people dying from the swine flu, which the government of course played up and yet the real flu is FAR more dangerous. Just as it is rare that a child will swallow a toy made out of lead, but that won't stop the government from passing insane lead banswhich, by the way, are funded and lobbied for by MATTEL and effectively destroy thousands of independent toy makers. The liberals, with all their criticism of (what they perceive to be) the "free market" seem to forget that MSNBC is itself a corporate media outlet seeking profits. The upper echelons of MSNBC, in this case GE, don't care about Bush's wiretapping at all (especially since they themselves PROFIT from the war via defense contracts), and they realize that the viewership demographic of MSNBC will care so much about labeling the killer of Tiller a "terrorist" that the viewers won't even realize that they're engaged in the exact same kind of reckless, evil profiling that Bush himself did. And of course, the same idiocy comes out of every mass media outlet and its sycophants. So keep in mind this is NOT behavior that is exclusive to MSNBCit's especially frequent on FOX News, with Hannity and his ilk. P.S. The person who killed Tiller WAS a piece of shit. And one of my facebook friends posted a disgusting status that said that "this was God's will and now he is answering to God and is in Hell". Any Christian nutcase that thinks that this was the will of God or that God is happy about this needs to be in an insane asylum. All the evangelical types ever complain about is gay marriage and abortion, even though your magic book lists about 9000 other things as sins. Seriously, GET OFF IT.
