Here’s where they went
So at anticipated mass today (Sat. 12. Mar. 2022) I heard the priest announce that next week there would be a special collection to help refugees from the fighting in the Ukraine. It caused me to flash back to when I heard my parish priest announce a collection to pay the mercenaries flying food and medicine to the Church run orphanages and children’s hospitals in Biafra (the Nigerian Federal government had hired mercenary fighter pilots to shoot down the supply planes. They were landing at night on unlit fields and it was so risky the Church wasn’t trying to get a discount. If you’ve ever done business with nuns raising money for charity, you’ll get this). After remembered this I remembered that the priest in question had come to the states to sneak into Mexico as a missionary in the 1920’s and ’30’s when the government there was making war against the Church. He remained in El Paso as a parish priest, never got it straight if the Cristero War ended before he got into Mexico or if he finished his work and came back to be a local pastor. I’m sure there was a special collection or two to bring him from Spain. And now I can’t help wondering, what special collections to send food, medicine, and spiritual comfort to which people in which war he heard.
Where have all the flowers gone? They’ve gone to Mexico, and from there to Nigeria, and now to Ukraine. What I want to know, where will they go next?
PS. Please don’t tell me about the geopolitical realities or realpolitik of the current war. Tell me how refugee moms are going to get enough to eat so there is milk in their breast for their infants.

Was that worth reading?
Then why not:
The Crusades: (Video Lectures)
The Crusades are the defining event of the Middle Ages. They brought the very different civilisations of Western Europe, Byzantium and Islam into an extended period of both conflict and peaceful co-existence. Between January and March 2021, Sean Gabb explored this long encounter with his students. Here are two of his lectures. All student contributions have been removed.

AG Paxton Leads Multistate Complaint Against the Biden Administration, Demanding the Reinstatement of the Keystone XL Permit
“Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced that Texas and Montana are filing a multistate complaint against the Biden administration for revoking the 2019 Presidential Permit for the Keystone XL pipeline. The lawsuit states that President Biden does not have the unilateral authority to change energy policy that Congress has set. The power to regulate interstate and international commerce, including granting or rejecting permits for oil pipelines that cross an international border, resides with Congress—not the President”.

It’s unconstitutional and harmful to the overall wellbeing of the nation verging on treasonous sabotage. The purpose for executive orders is to give a president power to martial resources to deal with threats posed by unfriendly foreign powers or natural disasters. Not as a tool for ramming through partisan agendas that his party can’t get through Congress—who has the ultimate authority to make laws.
It’s grounds for impeachment. An example must be made not only to save the country from an illegitimate suicidal policy decision based more on ideology than science—but also to set precedence against future presidents abusing executive powers to usurp the constitutional authority of Congress to make laws.

LewRockwell.com: They confess: they had no virus
CDC-FDA Smoking Gun of Smoking Guns
They confess: they had no virus when they concocted the test for the virus; they “contrived” a model by pretending to find what they wanted to find; it’s called a self-fulfilling prophecy
This is the con and the crime that drove millions of lives, and economies, into ruin.
Quiz: If an agency of the federal government revealed they had no basis for constructing a diagnostic test that was used on millions of people; but the test was the cornerstone of a national lockdown; and the lockdown drove the economy off a cliff; and destroyed millions of lives; however, NOW, that agency says, they DO have a basis for the test; would you buy what they’re selling?
If your answer is yes, you’re in good company; the company I call Blind, Ignorant, Denialist, Hoaxing Journalists.
The CDC issued a document that bulges with devastating admissions. Continued at…

Review the Bidding
The current war In Ukraine did not create inflation, though admittedly it made things worse. For the sake of those with really horrible memories, I thought I would review what did.
Inflation happens when there is greater demand for products than there is supply exacerbated by the money supply increasing faster than the supply of goods and services. This causes a rise in prices, AKA inflation. Welcome to oversimplified high school economics.
Remember all the way back to March 2020. At that time the US went into lockdown, causing a reduction or even cessation of the production of many goods and services. For the time being this was not too bad because the lockdown also reduced demand. That said, shortages of some goods and price increases of those products occurred, especially in regional markets. At the same time the government began handing out money either directly (stimulus checks) or indirectly (loan and rent amnesties.). For example, I needed to buy computers during the lockdown. I walked into a market for home computers heated up by people needing to work from increasing. Paid for them with stimulus money. Due to shortage I paid a little more than I planned, due to stimulus it was Okay. It was also inflationary.
The point is we were headed for inflation anyhow before Biden got sworn in (and sworn at) on 20 January, 2021. Biden immediately took actions that reduced oil and gas production in the US. Turns out this will cause the price of oil in the commodities market to rise. Besides raising the cost of transportation it created a shortage of raw materials for other markets. More inflationary pressure.
Then the lockdown ended for all practical purposes last fall, leading to people going out to buy goods and services. The demand was greater than the supply. Thus inflation. The transportation breakdown added to these shortages.
War between Russia and Ukraine exacerbated all of the above, adding to inflationary pressure. Biden supporters want us to forget his contributions to this climate. Trumpistas want us to forget his part.
So if someone tries to blame only one of the above they are part of the next round of inflation. More importantly, they are participants in the plot to dumb the rest of us down.

Some questions to ponder:
If borders don’t exist, why do political parties need to import voters? Let’s just let the whole world vote for our elected officials. How much worse could we do?
Why haven’t collegiate woman swimmers walked out on the corrupt organization that is destroying their sport and their opportunities? What an opportunity to demonstrate withdrawal of the sanction of the victim. If you know any swimmers I’d be interested in their response. What good does it do them to stay?
And …

Human Flourishing
A well deserved quickie meal as a reward for pulling off an article and a very productive day outside. Microwaved pan pizza with green peppers and anchovies. All courtesy of Capitalism. And every bit as good as something I might get eating out. The lockdowns have sharpened my culinary skills which were good to begin with. Now Bidenflation and the Disasterville’s energy crisis makes me less willing to eat out let alone make unnecessary trips.
The economy of Capitalism has been astonishingly resilient in its ability to adapt as reflected in the continuing availability of most goods when I go shopping. Can only hope it can continue and we can continue to hang out and double down in the World of Atlas Shrugged. And the world can survive to allow us the opportunity to do a little beekeeping in orbit.
That was one of the things they used to ridicule the proposals of Gerard K. O’Neill and the L5 Society back in the day.
