I was eight years old.
Grandpa George picked me up from school to take me to McDonalds (where we always got lunch) and then home at the end of my 2nd grade school day.
“They killed him.”
Those were the only words Grandpa George could push out as I climbed into the even-then-ancient truck he drove every day. His eyes were filled with tears.
I was a very average eight year old. I had no real sense that anything beyond the day-to-day events of my life–school (grades), family, pets–was of any particular importance to me. But I remember the sadness in those days that followed. The shock and disbelief that this was happening–had happened–was peripheral to my world, except for the pain it caused my loved ones.
I remember, though not with any great clarity, the seemingly endless shock and horror transmitted by the media.
The things I remember most clearly were two little children, now fatherless, younger than me, whose lives were permanently altered.
And the horse. That riderless horse.
“… the most seminal events in recent American history have been deeply and purposefully misrepresented to the public.”
The truth of that event, like so many (before and since) was, and remains, hidden from us. Buried beneath veritable mountains of obfuscation, half-truths, and outright lies. Not to mention some subtle and not-so-subtle historical revisionism.
There is a website that I recently discovered on the Internet Archive–thanks to a tweet–called “Evidence of Revision”. What you will find, if you go there, may convince you that (among other things) the corporate media is now and has been for, well, at least 50 years, the propaganda arm of those who believe they have a right to rule. (To be fair, the media have merely replaced those who once controlled the bells in the cathedral and church towers and who served much the same function.)
It may also convince you that whatever outward-facing political faction currently holds sway is irrelevant.
What you will find, if you visit this site, is rather artfully transmuted reportage–at least compared to our contemporary, embarrassingly blatant propaganda dished out by the modern hacks-of-the-dayhttps://archive.org/details/EvidenceOfRevision_201610/Evidence+of+Revision.
The archives here contain information regarding the JFK assassination, the RFK assassination, and the MLK assassination.
I would love to hear your perspectives on the information present here. For my part, I’m anxious to see the ever-changing narratives surrounding Antonin Scalia, Jeffrey Epstein, Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Anthony Bourdain, and countless others …
