Your government’s good intentions at work. Illegal immigrants have swamped the hospital system in Yuma, resulting in $26 million in uncompensated care for illegals in the last two years. There are no beds available for locals; they go to Phoenix. Hospitals are prohibited by law from releasing a mother and baby unless the mother has a child car seat. So the hospitals hoovered up all the child car seats in the Yuma area, depriving locals of any seats. The kicker: none of the immigrants own a car. None.

Tribes cannot lease land for more than 25 years, which makes it hard to build infrastructure. One tribe has been trying to get a permit from BIA for 14 years, another 22 years.
