L. Neil Smith's
THE LIBERTARIAN ENTERPRISE
Number 45, May 1, 1999

I'm writing to you because I think you are about the only one to whom I can write that is as repulsed by the most recent turn of events. There are others, but they are enroute to the Great Western Gun Show in L.A. It would not surprise me if it is canceled, as it was during the riots of 1992.

I get the Colorado network stations on satellite so that I don't have to stay up until eleven to see a network movie and found that the series based on the Dean Koontz novel, Mr. Murder, had been canceled. The coward in chief proposed more restrictions than I expected and the only one who objected was Daschle.

LaPierre wimped, and even before the battle had begun, agreeing to additional laws.

Andy Molchan of the National Association of Federally Licensed Firearms dealers rolled over like a two dollar whore, and that was a surprise. Every article I have read by him has been extremely pro-freedom.

In the past I have read your ramblings comparing the NRA with HCI and have not been in agreement. After this clusterfoxtrot, I will graciously accept a stern "I told you so".

Yours for freedom

L. Lawrence Baird
