What Freedom Means To Me

           In 1776, our nation became a free nation. We were up against an enemy three times as big as us, but with the Lord's help, we won and we became free. And ever since, we have fought to keep that freedom. Men have died, towns have burned, people have suffered, but we still remain free because our country has successfully fought and won.

           In World War I we fought for freedom for other countries besides us so they could have what we have -- the freedoms of religion, speech and some of the other freedoms that we are very thankful to have.

           In World War II we did the same and in Vietman we found for freedom, but we did not win. But that was God's will and we will just have to accept that. But one day, all nations will be free because the Lord will come back and set everyone free.

           There are many countries who do not have freedoms that we have. For example, freedom of religion to worship God the way we choose and not just by the way someone says -- to say anything we want to say without fearing death. There are still countries that are in great need because they have no freedom to believe in the gospel for fear of death; such as, parts of China, Russia and Africa.

           A day that we celebrate our country's freedom is called Veterans' Day -- a day when all people come together that have served our country and have fought for our freedom. And we are very grateful to those people who have died so that we may be free and we pray that God will bless and keep safe everyone that fights for our country so that we all will remain free, and that's what freedom means to me.
