REMEMBER: BOYCOTT KMART!

[It doesn't matter whether we're having any real effect -- we can use this as a PR lever regardless. Besides, Kmart would never admit it if we were hurting them anyway. -ed.]

[...] Customers don't appear to be responding to Kmart Corp.'s deep price cuts on thousands of items, which the discount chain instituted with considerable fanfare this past spring. But Kmart's biggest rivals, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Target Corp., sure have, fighting back with price cuts and even a lawsuit, and gaining market share in the process.

[...] Though Kmart says its store traffic has increased, it doesn't seem to be luring customers away from rivals.

Wal-Mart's same-store sales jumped 5.7% for its fiscal second quarter; Target's were up 3.4%, but Kmart's comparable store sales were up just 1%. [...]
