I enjoyed this book quite a bit. It seems to get off to a slow start with the interesting twist on where vampires came from (and why) which has to be explained. But after that it is an entertaining story. And gives a low-key but believable illustration of a libertarian society and a libertarian crew on a starship flying to a nearby solar system. The passengers are all frozen, and the 8-person crew is thawed out in rotation a year at a time for the subjective-30-year trip.

All would go well except one of the crew has been replaced by a vampire. This brand of vampires are shockingly evil, so there are a few rather grim scenes. And then when the ship finally arrives at the destination... well read it and find out what happens.

Recommended.
