As I have said before, I am not a fan of the NRA or LaPierre. They roll over and play dead or, even worse, actively collaborate with the Victim Disarmament scumbags and actually write gun control laws. But at the NRA annual meeting, he appearss to get it. Or at least, he talks the talk.

Shooting sports has lost a legend. Tom Knapp, shotgun virtuoso (and pretty damn good with a rifle, too) died of pulmonary fibrosis on April 26, according to his wife. I've seen him eject shells from his pump shotgun and use them as clay birds before they hit the ground. I've seen him place a stamp over the hole in a washer, toss the washer in the air, and put a .22 mag slug through the hole. Second only to the late great Bob Munden, the still living Jerry Miculek, and the legendary Ed McGivern, Tom was not only a gifted shooter, he was a pre-eminent showman. My condolences go out to his family.

Someone who gets it. The widow of Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, who was murdered a few weeks ago, affirmed her continuing support for the 2nd Amendment. In her own words—

"There will always be evil," she told the National Rifle Association Leadership Forum. "But that evil shouldn't take away our freedoms. In fact, the only way to defeat evil is by taking advantage of our freedoms."

A lot more classy than the Sandy Hook parents who permitted themselves to be Obama's tools, or Gabby Giffords.

It sucks to actually have to support the NRA again, but when he's right, LaPierre is right. Again, from the convention. Despite the NRA's repeated sucking up to the gun control crowd by weakening, but never actually defeating, them, LaPierre called upon gun rights supporters to stand up and fight for our rights. I just wish he'd do the same thing when he WASN'T at an NRA convention or political rally. Far too often we have heard this great talk, then read of the latest "compromise" bill. Ya gotta wonder why they keep doing it. Even when the NRA rolls over and blows the victim disarming anti-2nd crowd, they immediately call the NRA "whores of the gun lobby who just want kids dead." Wayne, you need to stand strong with "The 2nd Amendment means what it says. Licenses, background checks, weapons bans, magazine capacity limits, and ALL other victim disarmament laws are a direct violation of the Constitution. The only way to stop a bad man with a gun is to have GOOD men and women with guns nearby." Do that, Wayne, and my membership dues will be in the mail in the morning.

Dudley Brown, president of the National Association for Gun Rights, is always sending me letters. Each one contains the de rigeur request for a donation. But he ALSO passes along accurate info on many pro-gun events occurring around the world. Today, he pointed out that on June 3, Obama should receive the UN Small Arms Proliferation Treaty. If he signs it, then Harry the dickhead Reid will probably, using his disdain for democratic procedures, bring it to the Senate for a vote with minimal debate (or even no debate at all). If it passes, it will effectively require the US government to create and maintain a national registry of gun owners and the types of weapons they own, control access to and registration of ammuntion, and limit or prohibit transfers of these weapons, even among family members. Get your asses in gear, support the pro-gun organizations of your choice, and TELL YOUR SENATORS to kill the treaty if they wish to return to DC on their next election cycle. Might I suggest going here and adding your name to the list? Be advised, there will be a request for a donation immediately following the petition. Donate if you wish to.

And people wonder why I home school. Yet another example of a "Zero Tolerance Policy" from the supposed promoters of tolerance, the liberal left. A 7 yr old boy pretends his pencil is a gun, and "shoots" a kid he's playing army with. The school suspends the boy, claiming "some would consider this threatening behavior". What I consider threatening behavior is the relentless pursuit of a mindless, conformist society that is afraid of weapons and also cannot even consider playing cops and robbers or army. C'mon, folks. Kids play these games ALL THE TIME! 99.99999999% of those kids never go out and do something wrong with a weapon. Grow a brain. This kid did NOTHING wrong, just as so many other kids did nothing wrong and got smacked in the head by idiot authoritarians with no concept of common sense and a zero intelligence....er TOLERANCE policy. We have one kid suspended and arrested for a pro-hunting T-shirt at school. Another expelled for a shirt that says "The 2nd amendment—It ain't about duck hunting". A kid suspended for making a pistol out of LEGO blocks. And the worst part? Most of these parents meekly sent little Johnny BACK TO THE SAME SCHOOL AFTER HIS SUSPENSION WAS OVER!!! If something like this were to happen to one of MY kids in ANY type of school, the kid would be yanked faster than a principal could say "One week suspension!" And criminal charges for a T-shirt being considered "making terroristic threats"? Oh, we'd be spending a LOT of time with the lawyers. School taxes in that district would be rising drastically to pay for that lawsuit. and we'd move the day after the suit settled.

Things like this should prove the gun grabbing buttwipes in DC don't give a damn about crime. As more and more states go to "Must Issue" or "Shall Issue" in regards to CCWs, (or the three states now with "Constitutional" or Vermont" carry, which means Own it? Carry it! no license required), the gun homicide rates keep dropping. (Except, of course, in the cities and states that keep their prohibitions strong).

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation's population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.

(from the above article) Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Comrade Feinstein.

3D printable guns. Whatever will they think of next. of course, you realize this means they will want to ban printers, next. Well, until we can print the ammo........ Perhaps the printed guns and their ammunition can be used on these targets, banned from display (but not neccesarily sale) at the NRA convention. Wish I had one of each!

I cannot believe the stupidity of NYC...... Oh well, actually, I can! A man is arrested for playing with his kids in a park. using an "Airsoft" style rubber pellet-firing toy gun, he was playing with his kids. He shot the rubber pellets at a tree, then showed the kids how to shoot the toy. A busybody mom ordered him to leave the park. She video'd him, called the police, and he was later arrested at his home for, among other things, posession of an "illegal BB gun" and child endamgerment. What has this world come to? Playing with your kids is a crime. Glad I don't live in the Rotten fruit......er Big Apple!

So it's NOT gun related. But isn't it faunny that the IRS (whose bigwigs claim they knew nothing about the actions of their underlings) was targeting TEA Party organizations for more scrutiny, as well as any group with the word "Patriot" in the name. They went so far as to demand donor lists (which the IRS has no right to unless the organization is actually tax exempt, which the TEA Party is not) from some groups. I wonder how much outrage there would be had they targeted a liberal organization? At least Big Brother apologized for the harassment...... (sarc)

Well, this seems to be a wrap for the rant this week. Later, Gators.
