Keep Them On Their Toes

Family and fiends (you know who you are)

I just received e-mail asking me to vote in a 2016 straw poll. To my taste, it offered nobody really interested in advancing the cause of liberty. Even if I'm wrong about tyhat, it can't hurt to give them a little surprise to make sure they're paying attention.

So I wrote in and voted for myself, L. Neil Smith. If this group were to receive a few hundred votes for me, that would help me make them pay attention to issues that are important to most of us.

Here's the URL. Have fun.

Ever see the movie Man of the House with Tommy Lee Jones? There's one scene in which he rescues a girl from a car that is about to be blown up by cutting her free from a jammed seat belt. He used a serrated blade to cut the belt.

Got me worried about needing to cut a seat belt to save my sorry butt or the life of someone else. So I bought a little Gerber two blade folder. And one blade is a Wharncliffe with a serrated edge.

Before 9/11 I could have taken that knife on a plane.

In early June this year I was window shopping guns (OK, like most of you don't windowshop guns more than you buy.) and the shop was getting rid of some inexpensive knives. One had a glass breaker and belt cutter. It was also assisted opening and had a half and half serrated and straight edge, useful for cutting web belts in an emergency. So I bought it and keep it with me when I drive. I figure it's good enough for one emergency use. God loves me enough and I'll never find out.

Before 9/11 I could have taken that knife on a plane.

When the plane crashed in San Francisco on Saturday 6 July, 2013 all but two of the passengers were evacuated alive before they got killed by the resulting fire. On ABC news the announcer stated that first responders had to throw utility knives to the flight attendants to cut people loose whose belts got stuck.

Apparently since 9/11 no one has a knife on board a plane to deal with such an emergency.

There are several good knives with web cutting features and specialized tools for cutting seat belts in an emergency. Perhaps some should be kept in the pilot's cabin of all planes, just in case.

Until we get past not trusting passengers with knives because of 9/11.

Fellow Patriots,

Most patriots are shellshocked when they saw this video. Some are screaming in terror.

This is so blatantly obvious to those who are able to connect the dots, from the plastic coffins in Georgia to the DHS Ammo Hoarding.

But this information is suppressed, even by websites that claim to report the truth.

The truth about FEMA Concentration Camps and the purpose of the Secret New Executive Orders is finally unfolding...

My Gun

Dear Editor:

The following comes from John McDowell, by way of my aunt Bobbie. I have asked for, but not yet received appropriate permissions, but given that it was posted the way it is, I figure it's okay. It is entitled "My Gun".

Today I swung my front door wide open and placed my Remington 870 shotgun right in the doorway. I gave it 6 shells, then left it alone and went about my business.

While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the neighbor boy across the street mowed the yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the stop sign right in front of our house.

After about an hour, I checked on the gun. It was still sitting there, right where I had left it. It hadn't moved itself outside. It certainly hadn't killed anyone, even with the numerous opportunities it had been presented to do so. In fact, it hadn't even loaded itself.

Well you can imagine my surprise, with all the media hype about how dangerous guns are and how they kill people. Either the media are wrong, and it's the misuse of guns by people that kills people, or I'm in possession of the laziest gun in the world.

All right, well I'm off to check on my forks and spoons.

I hear they're making people fat.

Brag

The following was posted Saturday 13 July, 2013: "Gun lovers get win in Missouri with law on first-grader safety class" .

Allow me to pat my own back as I point out I submitted an article to TLE recommending similar actions a little while ago. Even longer ago at a union local meeting I was silly enough to suggest that the NEA commend the NRA for the Eddie Eagle Program. The logic was that regardless of how one feels about gun control, learning gun safety is an important part of ones education and development as a decent human being. Think my idea died somewhere on the way to or at the TSTA meeting (quelle surprise.).

So apparently my crazier ideas ain't. Actually that's kinda discouraging. Makes me nervous about the current standard of sanity in this world.
