Neil Smith's The Libertarian Enterprise Joining Ruger in their boycott of California sales, Smith and Wesson announces they will no longer sell their handguns in Ca due to the ridiculous "microstamping" requirement. On January 22nd renowned gun maker Smith & Wesson joined Sturm, Ruger, & Co., by announcing it would cease California sales of its semi-automatic pistols due to microstamping requirements that went into effect last year. Ruger made the same announcement earlier this month. Microstamping is a requirement that each firearm be fitted with a special firing pin that leaves a fingerprint on a bullet casing which differs from the fingerprint of every other firearm. In other words—every one of the wildly popular Smith & Wesson M&P .45 semi-automatic handguns would have to be manufactured in such a way so that no two of them left the same mark on a shell casing. The cost of doing this would be incredibly high to manufacturers, and would be a cost they would have to pass on to consumers in higher prices. Moreover, the result of doing this would be yet another gun registry—every gun sold that met microstamping requirements would have be to registered so that the government knew who owned the gun that left that fingerprint. I hope they stick with it and refuse to sell to LEOs, as well! Fuck Kaleeforneeeyah! My (hopefully soon-to-be-ex) state of New York has gone the next step. [Link]. Effective January 15, all sellers of ammunition will have to be registered with the state. And as soon as the database is set up, all ammunition sales will require a federal background check. If you buy ammunition in New York State, you may soon need to undergo a background check. The New York Safe Act will require retail sellers to do background checks and record sales once a state database is established and operational. The state database is currently under construction. Last week, a federal judge in Buffalo upheld the New York SAFE Act, but did throw out the provision that limits magazines to seven rounds. "You will not be able to purchase ammo and have it shipped to your home anymore. It will have to be shipped to a Federal Firearms Dealer. We have to record the sale and do, according to this letter we just received, a background check every time you purchase ammo," said Chuck Sherwood, owner of Timber Creek Sportsman Shop. As of January 15th, all sellers of ammunition must register with the state. Also, all ammunition transfers in New York must take place in person, including internet sales and they must be facilitated by a New York state ammunition seller. This crap has GOT to be stopped! Next, just listen to his mash-up of gun terms and outright blatant lies. Just for starts—he claims the gun fires a thirty round magazine (NOT that he gets the terms for magazine and rounds correct) in half a second. That's faster than a Vulcan Minigun. An Uzi, with one of the fastest cyclic rates around, can hit 800 rounds per minute if tuned properly, can fire 6.67 rounds in half a second. To meet Mr. Idiot's claims, the "assault style weapon" he is holding would require a cyclic rate of 3600 rounds per minute—which ONLY the Vulcan Minigun can reach, and it needs 6 barrels, an electric motor to spin them, and, Predator to the contrary, is NOT man-portable. Like last year's version, the legislation would also allow designated school personnel to carry concealed weapons in buildings. Another provision would let holders of concealed gun permits carry firearms openly, even in municipalities with ordinances banning open carry. It would also lower the minimum age to get a concealed weapons permit to 19, down from 21. But Nieves' bill is less specific about which federal laws it seeks to nullify. It removes references the 1934 and 1968 gun control acts while keeping generic references to fees, registration and tracking policies that "have a chilling effect on the purchase or ownership" of guns and ammunition by law-abiding citizens. PERIOD. So there can be NO prohibited sales. These charges stem from question 11a on ATF background check Form 4473, which asks: Are you the actual transferee/buyer of the firearm(s) listed on this form? Warning: You are not the actual buyer if you are acquiring the firearm(s) on behalf of another person. If you are not the actual buyer, the dealer cannot transfer the firearm(s) to you.This question is problematic if interpreted the way it was by those who indicted Abramski because striking down the legality of a law-abiding citizen buying a gun which he or she transfers to another law abiding citizen would also affect buying a gun that one plans to give--to transfer as a gift—to a law abiding citizen. That interpretation effectively criminalizes a father buying a rifle for his son for Christmas or a mother buying a handgun to transfer to her daughter who is going off to college. Moreover, law-abiding citizens have been buying and selling/transferring guns to one another in the United States since 1787. I'm sick of our government violating basic rights. ENUMERATED rights. The man confronted the homeowner and disarmed him, assaulting him with the rifle, authorities said. Now, those of you who actually listen to what I say know I'm no fan of the NRA. Rank and file support gun rights, the leadership writes gun laws that violate said rights. Even Wayne LaPierre fails to walk the walk all the time. But their grading system for politicians in regards to their stand on gun rights tends to be pretty accurate. And she got a "F" every time she was rated. So now, when scandals abound in her campaign over her lying claims of single motherhood at 19, she's desperately trying to get gun owners' support by claiming she's now pro-gun. It won't work, Wendy. We are NOT stupid hicks—we can see through your lies. I hope this costs you Democrat votes, as well. There aren't as many sheeple in Connecticut as we thought from those lines to register their so-called "Assault Weapons" and high-cap magazines. [Link]. Of an estimated 2.4 million magazines (based on retail sales) and 370,000 so-called "Assault Weapons" (again, based on retail sales) owned in Connecticut, only 38,000 magazines and 50,000 rifles were registered under Connecticut's unconstitutional gun and magazine ban. Weeks after the deadline expired, authorities revealed that 50,016 assault weapons and 38,290 ammunition magazines had been registered. CT News Junkie reported that it is, "unclear how many gun owners own the banned weapons and magazines, but chose not to comply with the registration requirement." That's the way we want to see things go—no compliance with unconstitutional laws is the way to go, People!
