We're going to start this off with Mama Liberty's thoughts on armed teachers. [Link]

There are several items in the news these days about "allowing" some teachers and administrators to be armed in order to respond to "school shootings." In fact, some schools are actively in the process of providing for this. Even more surprising is the fact that many in "law enforcement" are starting to support the idea.

While I very much agree that teachers, like anyone else, must be free to carry arms for self defense, maybe a better alternative to armed teachers and "guards" in "public schools" is to stop gathering hundreds or thousands of helpless potential victims into these tactical nightmare environments.

There are many much better alternatives to government indoctrination camps. The risk of an actual shooter is a much smaller problem than the unavoidable fact that government "education" is dedicated to the eradication of critical thinking and individual liberty.

Take that, you union swine! Then, we'll pull one of the older pieces from the days before I started including stuff from The Price of Liberty in my rants. [Link] This one is from Claire Wolfe, one awesome author. I can heartily recommend her "Hardyville" series of stories for the individualistically minded person.

These days, law enforcement at all levels—from the local cop shop to obscure federal agencies—uses snitches to trap ordinary people. Snitches tell lies that send their friends to jail. Paid agents provocateurs talk or trick otherwise harmless people into committing crimes. In many places, Snitch culture has virtually replaced real investigation of real crimes.

Don't think you're exempt if you're a "law-abiding citizen." The most trusting, naive, innocent people often make the easiest targets for these weaselly, lying, opportunistic vermin. Snitches specialize in targeting the vulnerable.

Read both the linked articles. They are surely worth it.

This is a tough topic, and one I have ignored for a few months despite it's impact in MY life recently. [Link] Pop is 76 next month, and he taught me everything I know about guns and safety. And one of the hardest things I have had to do is convince him he can't have as many guns as he has had in the past. Shooting, he's fine. Caring for one gun, by the bedside, he's fine. But having a larger number out where we used to keep them, not so much. For years, we've had safes in the bedroom of the adults in the house— since I was 10 or 12, I can remember the lockbox in his room. He unlocked it when he went to sleep, and locked it first thing in the morning. It contained his home defense gun. Out in the Pig Pen (his garage/workshop/greenhouse/place to get away from it all, was where he kept the big safe for the rest of the guns. And that safe was ALWAYS locked, and I did not know where the keys were until I was 16 or so. Now, at 50, I have my own set, even though I live 300 miles away. SO a few months ago, I was visiting and went out to hang with Pop in the pen. My father has had a physically rough life. Spinal meningitis at 2 nearly killed him. his mother fed him spoiled lamb at 4, botulism nearly took him again. Smoking by 8, worked as a plumber in the asbestos days, quit smoking by 45, but it was too late. He's got mesothelioma, COPD, AND a mass in his lungs (non-cancerous) that combine to keep his oxygen sats at 50. If he hadn't adapted slowly to this, this level would most likely kill him. As it is, it makes him forgetful, clumsy, and occasionally, confused. He has had enough other problems (broken back twice, hyperactive thyroid, now NO thyroid), the man is amazingly strong for what he's been through. He's been my hero since I was a small boy, even though now, I can see some things that were not too cool. but I digress. In any case, my Pop is slowly dying, but not fast enough for him. I recognize, support, and demand the right of every sapient being to choose, when they desire, to end their life in the manner they wish, as long as they physically harm no other. I would NEVER take his guns for a suicide threat. Hell, I've promised to unplug him should that time ever come. Now, to the article, then to my response to it. The article's author somehow thinks that doctors are the ones to handle firearms and age.

In a recently published paper, the two physicians offer a five-point checklist meant to help caregivers assess whether firearms remain safe in the hands and homes of older Americans, particularly if the gun owners are exhibiting unclear thinking or depression.

"Just like with some (older) people, it's not if you should stop driving, but when," said Dr. Ellen M. Pinholt, a co-author and former chief of geriatric medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. "If we find some dementia present in a patient, it can be about when to lock up the weapon or whether we have the family take it away. (emphasis mine)

Wait one fucking minute there, Docs. Since when is it YOUR decision what the family does? Back to Pop. As I said, I was visiting a few months ago, and found three loaded guns scattered around the Pen. The Pen is a garage. Pop lives in a populous area, with kids who trespass all the time, cutting through the yard. And Pop won't lock the garage. So Mom and I had to talk to him about it, and he promised to stop leaving them around. We checked, and he wasn't following through. Since I'm the only other shooter in the family til we gat to my kids, it falls to me to make the gun choices. So I had to sit my father down, and tell him we needed to take the guns, except for the house gun, which Mom not only can shoot as well as Pop, but can monitor for proper storage. and we have NOT involved doctors, cops, or any other governmental entity. Friends, I can not stress enough that WE, the People, must care for our parents, their rights, AND the safety of others. We must not surrender these obligations to ANYONE, no matter how hard it may be to do the hard work ourselves. We cannot delegate this tough job to anyone, because NO ONE ELSE can do it with love. It SUCKS to tell Daddy he's dangerous on the road. It's tough as hell to tell Mom she can't build fires in the fireplace anymore. And it's hard as hell to tell the man who taught you everything you know about guns (except what I learned in gunsmithing school, various training courses, from Neil Smith, and other experts) that he's no longer competent to care for his collection. And here's basically what I said.

"Pop, you've taught me a lot over the years. How to plumb a house, build a wall, drive a stick shift, shoot a gun, and most importantly, how to be a man. YOU'RE the reason I'm a good Daddy, why my wife loves me, and my sons and daughter respect me as much as I respect you. So I hope you understand how hard this is for me to do. We talked to you about how you're storing guns, and you haven't been able to change it. I have no choice but to ask you to give me all the guns but the house gun, so that I can keep them safe. We can take them down and sell them, or I will store them at my house, bringing them every visit so we can go shooting. But you'd be furious with yourself if some punk kid snuck in here one night and walked out with one of your guns. And you'd die of horror if that gun were ever used to kill someone. So, will you give them up? For yourself, as well as for the rest of us?" They are all upstairs, in the safe. That was the hardest talk I've ever had with my Pop.

So I ask, again, that you all treat your parents with the respect they deserve—don't be obvious, but check the way they store and care for their guns. Go shooting with them every chance you get, and make sure they can still handle them. And, if the time ever comes, treat them gently, and with the greatest care you can, if it comes time to take the car keys, or the chainsaw, or the guns. They deserve it, and YOU will feel better for doing it right.

Want to shop for firearms, ammunition, and other gun-related products on line, GunBroker.com has been the place to shop. No more. [Link] Despite the fact that in order to shipped guns, a FFL is necessary, so no (anti-Constitutional) laws are being broken, the site (whose name I have written for the last time) is now banning "anonymous" account holders. Despite the advice of identity theft experts to protect your privacy by using anonymous or private servers, despite the fact that you cannot ship a firearms ANYWHERE IN THE US to someone who does not possess a FFL, and follow all anti-Constitutional laws, That site is shutting down accounts for maintaining your privacy.

The site has provided millions of Internet users with access to all makes and models of guns, and has been doing so for years.

However, they're now banning any user who visits their site using private servers or proxies in an attempt to protect his or her privacy.

This is problematic because many gun buyers now use private servers and proxies to avoid the prying eyes of the U.S. government. Individuals who value privacy simply don't want government agencies snooping in their personal affairs, so they use services like Tor (a browser that helps to throw off tracking devices and leaves a user's browsing history private) to surf the Internet without fear.

An individual reported to The Firearm Blog that he had recently been told by GunBroker.com that if he continued to access their site using a VPN (Virtual Private Network), his account would be terminated.

When he asked if they would consider his case as a special circumstance, they replied:

Due to the enormous amount of fraud originating from them, GunBroker.com does not permit access to our system from anonymous proxy servers or any service that disguises your location. If such access is detected again your account may be closed without additional warning.

Many identity theft experts recommend using proxies and VPNs to maintain anonymity and have a better, safer experience when both shopping and browsing online. But this is no longer an option on GunBroker.com.

I have cancelled my account, and urge all of you who use it to do the same, and make sure you tell them why.

We interrupt this rant for an important (to me, at least) announcement—I'm different, when compared to most of you. I like our country, sure. But I'm not particularly proud of it since about 1900, and I don't like Ol' (dis)Honest Abe, nor am I particularly fond of George Washington, despite the good things he did. And right now, I've got nothing but disgust for the way we're going. Because far too many, from both sides of the aisle, have no interest in the Constitution, the Declaration, or individual liberty. We re-elected Clinton, Bush II, AND Obama despite all the evidence they were all incompetent scumbags who didn't give a damn about American values.

And today (I'm writing this part on the 4th of July) we're supposed to celebrate our "Freedom" from a tyrannical government.......... while living under a tyrannical government. Every day, Washington, Albany (for me) and even the county, finds another way to strengthen the chains that bind most of us to them. Too many of you tell me "But you have to vote for ____________, otherwise you are voting for the other guy, who is even worse!" Well, I do not know about youse mugs, but I have sworn not to do this anymore. So I'm just serving notice to all of you—friend, ambivalent, or enemy—Never again. You may choose to vote for the lesser of two evils, but I am never doing it again. There are a few people mentioned for president that I might consider. Their party is irrelevant. Their sex, color, race, and age are irrelevant. They seem to espouse (mostly) things I support, and act accordingly. None of them has (so far, at least) said "X" then done "Y". And, as 2016 approaches, if their records hold, I'll talk a bit about each one, and why I like them. Now, back to our regularly scheduled ranting.

This kind of shit pisses me off BIGTIME! [Link] Cops abuse us far too often for ANY American citizen to be willing to chalk up to accident. It is past time that we, the people, put a stop to this crap. Unless we see a man attack a cop for no reason at all, when cops have a man down and they are beating him, HELP THE CIVILIAN, NOT THE COP!

The assault began when an officer named Ronald Cannella who had attempted to pull over a man named Livingston Manners for allegedly running a stop light dragged the driver from his vehicle and threw him to the ground in a gas station. It's quite likely that Manners, in justifiable fear for his safety, sought a well-lit area for the encounter with the brigand.

Security camera video shows that Manners was compliant and non-aggressive as the officer tried to "build the stop" by searching his vehicle. The officer eventually reached into the vehicle and pulled Manners from it, and the victim does nothing to resist, holding his hands face-up and to the sides. Cannella can be seen putting a forearm on the face and the throat of his victim, and then punching him repeatedly. Although no audio is available, it's certain that this attack was punctuated with the rapist's refrain, "Stop resisting!"

These damn cops walked on this one so far, and THAT is the real crime here.

This may seem repetitious to you, but this just makes me sick on so many different levels. [Link] Let me be VERY blunt here—despite the fact we cannot see what happened prior to the pig tossing the first blow (yeah, I meant it—he's a fucking pig for what he did) she was no longer any type of threat, IF she ever had been one, when he was bouncing her skull off the pavement with his fists. Then the topper for me is the civilian jumping in and helping the pig finish subduing his victim!!!! I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, and think he felt that getting her cuffed would stop the beating, but I really do not believe it. I have to confess, that cop would have been eating my boot had I been there, jail time for me or not. He was being a vicious predatory thug, not a cop, at that point.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating after cellphone video captured an officer repeatedly hitting a woman in the face as she lay flat on her back off just off a Los Angeles freeway.

The video titled "Police Brutality?" was shot Tuesday evening from a vehicle entering the eastbound 10 Freeway near La Brea Avenue and posted on YouTube the following day. It runs for 1 minute, 30 seconds and includes footage of the incident in real time and in slow-motion.

This is grounds for a hog-hunt.

I shall preface this one with a brief statement. I do not hunt at this time. I see nothing at all wrong with hunting for food AND trophy, or for trophy hunters who donate the meat to local tribesmen (as is the requirement on most African safaris these days). I HAVE hunted a bit in the past, mostly varmints destroying my crops. Kendall Jones, I salute you. [Link] FaceBook bitchers—I deplore you.

The 19-year-old has stirred up controversy with a number of photos posted to her public Facebook page, which she launched in February, in which she smiles and poses beside a series of dead exotic animals—from a lion to a hippo, elephant and more—that she's hunted over the years.

In her bio posted to the social network, Jones says she followed her father on "hunting adventures" as a child, and shot her first animal, a white rhino, at the age of 13 on a trip to South Africa. She has since returned to Africa several times where she has "harvested" a wide variety of animals, and now hopes to host a television show about her exploits.

"First and foremost, it's imperative to make mention that all of Kendall's hunts in Zimbabwe and South Africa were 100% legal with proper tags and licenses awarded on a pre-approved quota by the countries officials and wildlife department," the family said in the statement.

"Secondly, the tags, licenses, and fees purchased in addition to the services provided by local trackers, skinners, and assistants totalled over $160,000 USD, not including travel and/or production costs. In Zimbabwe, where over 70% of the country's population is classified as poor or extremely poor, this money, along with the $200 million hunters provide annually to the overall African economy, can provide a great deal of stimulus for the local economies. In the most rural areas, most people are unemployed and depend on bartering as a way of living and their economy welcomes hunters. We're very proud of Kendall and Cody in not only helping to conserve these species for future generations, but also for helping contribute both money and jobs to an extremely poor area of Africa."

It is common practice these days to issue these permits and licenses for the harvesting of animals, even endangered ones, that are straying beyond the bounds of state parks and damaging agriculture, the only thing keeping the peoples of the area alive, or for predators who are endangering livestock and people under similar conditions. I DO NOT SUPPORT fools who engage in knee-jerk opposition to a hunter when they have no idea of the facts in matter. In addition, it is my belief that most of this outrage is strictly because the hunter in this case is a beautiful young lady rather than a beer-swilling redneck, and they are terrified that she might manage to destroy the Disney image of hunters most of us have grown up with and been indoctrinated by. FOLLOW-UP NOTES—It appears that ShitBook has told this young lady to fuck off, and pulled her photos of her legally taken, ecologically sound, and feeding the poor trophies. All ShitBook members should tell Fuckerberg or whatever his name is to stop censoring people for being hunters.

Okay, this is one of the nerviest ass-bags I've read of recently. [Link] What kind of nerve does it take to buy a piece of property next to a hog farm, then demand the owner cease raising hogs, or sell the property, so that the odor of the pigs won't interfere with a proposed mosque on said adjoining property.

Craig Baker is a farmer in Katy, Texas, who was shocked when he learned that the land next to his family's farm had been purchased by Kamel Fotouch, president of an Islamic association, who intended to build a mosque and "community center" on the 11 acres.

Then his new Muslim neighbors actually had the gall to ask Baker to leave the farm or get rid of his pigs, because the pigs must be removed in order to "cleanse" the land before building their mosque.

I DO like Craig's response—Hold Friday pig races during afternoon prayer. AND he offered THEM 1.2 million for the property. This is no poor farmer afraid to stand up to pushy Muslims.

Resistance is Futile. You WILL be assimilated. Or at least, you WILL have your blood drawn. [Link] Remind me NOT to ever go to Oregon, because I WOULD NOT COMPLY, and I WOULD FILE A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE STATE ON CONSTITUTIONAL GROUNDS.

During Independence Day weekend, a time to celebrate US freedom and unalienable rights, Americans in Oregon will be subjected to a "blitz" of 'no-refusal' blood-draw checkpoints, as part of a disturbing trend that now extends nationwide.

Local news station KVAL reports that State police are re-naming Fourth of July weekend "No Refusal Weekend", as part of a crack down on drunk driving.

Any driver who is stopped by police and refuses to take an alcohol breath test will be subjected to a mandatory blood test either at the scene, at a medical facility, or at the nearest jail.

Anyone who merely questions the breath test could also automatically lose their license for a year.

The police say they will liaise closely with prosecutors and judges to immediately obtain "blood draw warrants" in an effort to paint the process up as legal and Constitutional.

Abso-fucking-lutely not.

Some whining sniveling little scumsucking pigs have been taking issue with some of my gun quotes. Apparently, it makes their wittle panties get all twisted up. I have no interest in spending days hunting every liberal asswipe's sites for specious "debunking" of quotes, and I ain'ta goingta. You don't like the quotes, feel free to post your whiney-assed debunks, but don't expect ME to waste time going to your crappy little sites to follow them up. And now, for the Quote of the Week, Neale Osborn Style. Debunk THIS, motherfucker—

"That government which governs best governs least. And that government which governs least leaves us the fuck alone." Neale Osborn, circa 1991, in L. Neil Smith's living room, paraphrasing Thomas Jefferson.

"There is no need to justify what weapons you own. Any more than there is any reason to justify what type of computer you own, what type of book you read, what type of booze you drink, or what the sex is or number of partners you choose to sleep with. By attempting to present disarmers such as yourself with "legitimate reasons" for owning ANY TYPE of weapon, I would be buying in to your argument that there needs to be a reason to own it in the first place. And I do not." Neale Osborn, July 15, 2012, NewsVine article.

"I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!" Patrick Henry

"I know not what course Y'all might take, but as for me, Give me Liberty or Die, Motherfucker DIE!!" Neale Osborn and A.X. Perez, November, 2010

The following is taken verbatim from The Probability Broach, a novel by pre-eminent Libertarian author L. Neil Smith. Permission granted by author after a request by myself. Permission may be verified by e-mailing to Mr. Smith at [email protected].

"Armed people are free. No state can control those who have the machinery and the will to resist, no mob can take their liberty and property. And no 220 pound thug can threaten the well-being or dignity of a 110 pound woman who has two pounds of iron to even things out. Is that evil? Is that wrong?" Also, Clarissa Olson to Lieutenant Win Bear, in said novel.

This is from the esteemed Mr. Smith, but NOT from any novel—

"Every man, woman, and responsible child has an unalienableindividual, civil, Constitutional, and human right to obtain, own, andcarry, openly or concealed, any weapon—rifle, shotgun, handgun, machinegun, anything—any time, any place, without asking anyone'spermission." The Atlanta Declaration of the Libertarian Party", written by L. Neil Smith. The author of this article is a signatory to same.

"[I]f a politician won't trust you, why should you trust him? If he's a man—and you're not—what does his lack of trust tell you about his real attitude toward women? If 'he' happens to be a woman, what makes her so perverse that she's eager to render her fellow women helpless on the mean and seedy streets her policies helped create? Should you believe her when she says she wants to help you by imposing some infantile group health care program on you at the point of the kind of gun she doesn't want you to have?

"On the other hand—or the other party—should you believe anything politicians say who claim they stand for freedom, but drag their feet and make excuses about repealing limits on your right to own and carry weapons? What does this tell you about their real motives for ignoring voters and ramming through one infantile group trade agreement after another with other countries?

"Makes voting simpler, doesn't it? You don't have to study every issue—health care, international trade—all you have to do is use this X-ray machine, this Vulcan mind-meld, to get beyond their empty words and find out how politicians really feel. About you. And that, of course, is why they hate it."L. Neil Smith, Sept, 1999, "Why did it have to be guns?"

"Since the criminals, being criminals, are NOT going to obey bans, the law-abiding citizen MUST have the ability to fight fire with firepower." Neale Osborn, January 27, 2011.

EVERY FUCKING ONE OF THESE HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY ME, TO MY SATISFACTION.

And that is a wrap.
