I've talked about dry
fire, and
other
ways to practice the physical skills necessary for self defense,
especially situational
awareness. All of these require you to use your imagination in a
number of ways, but there is a further dimension wherein the use of
your active imagination can help you prepare even better for that
situation you sincerely hope will never happen.
If you aren't sure what I'm talking about here, think of it this
way. When you learn a new skill that requires manipulation of things
with your hands, for instance, I'm assuming you do at least some
thinking about it later, visualizing yourself going through the
steps. It serves to reinforce the skill being learned, even when
there isn't time or opportunity to actually perform it physically.
Some people repeat a poem or song, a speech or a script passage,
aloud or silently, to cement the performance as well as the words in
their permanent memory.
Ya know what I'm gonna say Pilgrim. So do it, unless ya want me
ta slap ya silly!
I'm going to take a few moments for some semi-personal rambling.
Recently, I have gotten involved in a few back-and-forths on several
sites (Hi, NV, and all your nations) regarding Islamic terrorists,
and how to deal with them. And I have to say, I'm amazed at the many
ways that are being foisted off as intelligent. OK, not really. I
know that appeasers are all over the place, and that many people
falsely believe Islam is a religion of peace, and the terrorists are
the kook fringe. But what has REALLY surprised me are the people who
think that advocating fighting back is racist, or a violation of a
site's Code of Honor or Conduct. I've had comments deleted as
violations that advocated shooting jihadists who stand up and yell
"Allahu Ahkbar!". Oh, like the following comments-
I just call'em moving targets."Allahu Ahkbar!!" (ISIL clown)BANG
BANG... BANG (Neale says, "2 to the chest,& 1 to the head, puts
the terrorist down and dead)"
or
I "coddle" it (the 2nd Amendment) by following the
Constitution.Obama doesn't kill them, the fucking coward ran away
from our allies, and threw a newfound fledgling democracy to the
wolves. He's a piece of shit, destroying the country's Constitution
AND our reputation, as he intended from the start."We live in the
greatest country in the world, and I need your help to change it."
Barack Obama, on the campaign trail in 2008.Your goal, and his, is
to change America into an ally of ISIL. Mine is to KEEP America
free—our women out of Burkhas, our gays from being stoned,
Christians from being beheaded, and our Constitution intact. I'm not
coddling ISIL, I'm going to KILL them if they come here.
I have to say the level of fear these deletions show is quite
distressing. These people are so afraid of offending Muslims that
they refuse to even consider fighting to preserve themselves and our
way of life. No, America is not perfect—far from it. But it IS the
best thing so far, and it is the one place where, if we stay alert
and protect our rights, that the people can improve it and make it
truly that "Shining City Upon the Hill."

frothers, which WITHOUT any content would be worth it! And it has a

NBC News once again totally ignores the best way to preserve your life
in a criminal attack, and recommends using... Wasp Spray.
Americans have a constitutional right to armed self-defense, but
they have other choices as well. The University of Colorado, for
example, last year
offered
the students it sought to disarm with statewide legislation other
"crime prevention tactics." Options for female students facing rapists
included
passive
resistance," biting, and self-degradation.According to one proponent
of the bill to ban the lawful carrying of firearms on campuses, such
threats are "why we have the whistles." Along similar lines,
NBC's
Today Show recently offered suggestions on how to deal with violent
home invaders. Their basic advice: politely defer to the intruder, but
if things really get out of hand, reach for the insect repellent. For
the tips, the Today Show interviewed former NYPD detective Wallace Zeins,
whose New York City pedigree was evident in his recommendations. First,
Zeins instructed viewers to use their vehicles' key fobs as a makeshift
alarm. Following that, the former detective told the audience to keep
a can of wasp spray in the bedroom to use as an improvised chemical
weapon against a violent intruder. Further, the report suggested
abandoning one's home to the intruder as soon as possible. If captured
by a violent home invader, Zeins's advice was to comply with the
attacker's every wish, and to never lie to them. At no time did the
report suggest that firearms were a viable option. Also unclear was
whether Zeins himself has abandoned the firearms he carried as a police
officer in favor of bug spray to protect his own home and family. The
Today Show's omission of firearms as a legitimate means of self-defense
isn't especially surprising, given NBC's
lengthy
history of anti-gun bias. Nevertheless, while the defensive
capabilities of firearms for home defense may continue to escape the
attention of NBC's producers, the legitimacy of this option has been
recognized by far weightier institutions.

WTF, friends!
47-year-old Daniel Martin Jr. of Lawton Oklahoma was shot and killed
by police in March
after
he called 911 to report vandals outside of his house.
The police responsible for the murder have been cleared of any
wrong-doing by an internal investigation, and the death has been
ruled "justified".
When Mr. Martin spoke with the 911 dispatcher he warned them
that he had a gun, and that he would be carrying it just in case the
vandals were to break into his home.
However, somewhere this message got lost in translation, because
when Martin opened his front door for the police, someone shouted
"gun," and Lawton police officers Elijah Garcia and Anthony Edwards
fired multiple rounds, News Oklahoma reported.
Recordings later obtained of the exchange between the dispatcher
and the police show that the police were warned that the victim
would have a gun.
"They're still at my front door," he said.
The dispatcher asks if the vandals have a firearm, and
Martin says he can't tell. "But I have one," he adds. "I'm inside
with my weapon."
The police say that Martin was on drugs at the time of the
shooting and that he was having delusions, but his wife Tina has
corroborated his version of events, and has stated that she was the
one who convinced him to call
911
because she also feared for her life.
He told them he was armed, and they kill him. Great fucking job,
assholes. And of course, the TOC rule applies. What's the TOC rule?
"They're Only Civilians". Meaning it's not like the cops killed
anyone important.
This once has been a pet peeve of mine since the start.

The "post racial" president is demanding the racial profile of each and
every gun buyer be included on the Form 4473, that anti-Constitutional
paper the ATF requires prior to purchase of any firearm from a dealer.
And let me tell you, the race has gotten pretty damn specific lately.
The Obama administration quietly has been forcing new gun buyers to
declare their race and ethnicity, a policy change that critics say
provides little law enforcement value while creating the risk of
privacy intrusions and racial profiling. With little fanfare, the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in 2012
amended its Form 4473—the transactional record the government
requires gun purchasers and sellers to fill out when buying a
firearm—to identify buyers as either Hispanic, Latino or not.
Then a buyer must check his or her race: Indian, Asian, black,
Pacific Islander or white.
I've been answering "Unknown" on Hispanic, Latino, and "Human
Being" for the rest of it. Fuck the bastards. I wonder when the
racial quotas will start—"Sorry, Mr. Osborn, but we have to have at
least 7 more Blacks, 2 Latinos, and a Pacific Islander buy guns
before you can buy one."
Not particularly gun-related, but the UN is fanatically opposed
to the US Constitution and specifically, the 2nd Amendment. Gotta
wonder why Virginia is complying with a UN program.

Virginia was the fifth commonwealth state to be added to the Union.
It's a well known seat of agriculture within the United States,
and if liberals are to have their way, it's also going to be one of
the first states to fully implement Agenda 21 into their land
management procedures.
Terry McAuliffe, who once served as Hillary Clinton's campaign
manager, is the president of the DNC and the newly elected Governor
of Virginia. And he is interested in helping to establish the UN's
Agenda 21 in Virginia.
As part of his "Agriculture Resource Management Plan" (ARMP),
the governor is looking for "voluntary" commitment on the part of
farmers so they would be among the forefront of agricultural
stewards helping to take care of the earth.
The ARMP "encourages farmers to increase their use of
conservation best management practices while providing the community
'quantifiable credit' and 'better tracking' of the programs that
farmers already have in place. The program will ensure that farmers
will be 'good stewards' of our 'precious natural resources'."
There's no doubt that maintaining the earth is an important step
to take in helping to create a free society. Rampant pollution and
unchecked privilege on the part of corporations are no friend to the
earth or its inhabitants.
Remember, Agenda 21 specifies the "carrying capacity" of the
Earth as being under 1 billion people—what the fuck are they
planning for the other 6+ billion?

It smacks of tyranny when the governor fails to protect our

everything in my power to challenge, reverse, and nullify any
unconstitutional usurpation by the federal government."

A Texas gun shop known for its
controversial
signs has managed to raise eyebrows once again by criticizing
President Barack Obama and bringing up the gruesome issue of beheadings
to do it.
Outside of the Katy, Texas-based
Tactical
Firearms, the company currently has a sign asking, "Does one of
Obama's family members have to be beheaded for 'change' to happen?"
The sign, of course, is up in the midst of American grieving and
anger over the beheadings of two American journalists at the hands
of Islamic State extremists. Over the weekend, the group also
claimed to execute a British aid worker.
Despite the controversial nature of the sign, the company's CEO,
Jeremy Alcede, defended the content as well as the general decision
to put it up.
"I look and see what's going on throughout the week, realize
what's an issue, what needs to be fixed, and if I think it's
important then that's what I'll voice my opinion," Alcede said
to Houston-based
KHOU.
They will choose to deliberately miss the point. I could tell
them what it is....
Remember that stupid video that I shared with you last week from
the Anti-Constitutionalists that is supposed to show how eeevil guns
are? Well, a really smart group made a parody that shows how it
SHOULD end.

Isn't it amazing that the New York Times, one of the
flag-carriers of the so-called Assault Weapons Ban (more properly
known as the Billy-Bob Clinton Ugly Gun ban) finally admits that it
was all a hoax—the "threat" of the so-called assault weapon is a
lie, created by Democrats to advance an agenda.

On September 13, the 20th anniversary of the signing of the federal
assault weapons ban, The New York Times ran a column
explaining that the very term "assault weapon" is one the "Democrats
created" in the 1990s in order to ban "a politically defined
category of guns."
Moreover, the Times points out that the threat posed by
the private ownership of "assault weapons" is mythological in
comparison to FBI stats on the actual use of such guns in crime.
According to the NYT,
America was "suffering from a spike in gun crime...in the early
1990s" so "Democrats created and banned [an entire] category of
guns." The ban lasted from 1994 to 2004 and although crime fell
during that time, a "detailed study found no proof" the decline was
due to the ban.
Hard numbers showed the percentage of "assault weapons"
recovered by police during the ban only rose from 1 percent to 2
percent.
On top of all this, the Times points out that "assault weapons"
are not the gun of choice for criminals anyway—and never have been.
"In 2012, only 322 people were murdered with any kind of rifle, FBI
data shows." And as
Breitbart
News reported on January 15, 2013, deaths in which an "assault
rifle" were involved constituted less than 0.012 percent of the overall
deaths in America in 2011.
The New York Times did report one clear outcome of the "assault
weapons" ban in 1994—Democrats got creamed at the polls in
November.
'Nuff said.
I spend a lot of time talking about bad cops. Because, let's face
it, the good cops aren't much of a problem most of the time. But
there ARE some honest cops (not as many as we'd perhaps like to
have) and we need to nurture the good ones. Then, there are the
honest ones, who don't pretend they can be there when you need them,
even though we can be pretty sure they'd like to be. Like this man.

I have been a cop for 23 years and after all that time as a Violent
Crimes Detective, Robbery Detective, Patrol Officer, Traffic Cop,
SWAT Team Leader, Trainer, and now night shift Watch Commander, I
have learned a thing or two about your expectations of Law
Enforcement versus our ability to meet those expectations. My wife
has been a communications officer and 911 Supervisor for about 15
years. So, when I make the following statement, take it as factual.
I won't be there for you when you need me.
I know you depend on law enforcement to protect your community.
And we try. I have trained my entire career, physically and
mentally to be there and catch the bad guy. I want to do it. I am
equipped and trained to do it and have the deep and abiding desire
to be there when and how you need me. However, the cold, hard,
truth is that I will not be there and my peers won't either. If we
were there, you wouldn't need us. If we are parked in your yard,
nobody will break in, if we are behind you in line at the ATM,
nobody will rob you, and if we are in that dark parking lot, you are
safe.
But, you are prone to be a victim when we are not there.
Therefore, my statement holds true. I was thinking about this
article while sitting in my car outside a restaurant at night and
watched a waitress walk across the dark parking lot, alone, towards
her car. I put my spotlight on her car to make her feel safe. I
felt good about making her feel safer. Then, I thought about the
fact that this was one night out of hundreds she makes that walk, in
the dark, alone. Then I didn't feel so good. Because I know, I
won't be here the night she needs me.

When people challenge you on why you feel the need to carry,
train and
equip
yourself, remind them what cops know. We won't be there when they need
us. Help them understand that they can be a victim if they want, but,
you choose the higher path, to be a protector, not the prey. Invite
them to the
range to
introduce them to what we love. Give them circumstances where you
might need a gun and ask them what they would do, given they don't
have one. Ask them what they can do to protect their family and
explain that the helpless feeling they will have when they can't do
so, won't be lived down. How will their children view them when mom
or dad can't stop the bad guy? Then invite them to join the ranks
of safe, reasonable, responsible gun owners. Be an ambassador, the
more of us there are, the more likely we are to keep our
rights.
