As has become the usual pattern here, we shall begin with a piece from Mama Liberty. [Link] I'm not sure why she claims this isn't about guns, because it sure as hell is about ALL individual liberties, none of which can be safely exercised if we do not maintain the ability AND the means to protect them—meaning, the ability to own and carry guns.

We only have one "representative" in the US Congress for all of Wyoming, and I'm on her website mailing list.
This week she's writing to complain about Harry Reid, a frequent theme:
Harry Reid is desperately trying to sell the "do nothing Congress" as republicans' fault but it was his own decision to keep the Senate from coming to the table to work on these critical issues. We have sent the Senate many different solutions and ideas. Harry Reid's Response? Still nothing but crickets.
Her focus, however, is really on the latest bill to be sidelined by Reid's tactics.

This isn't the good part—but then, you knew that. And I bet you know what to do next... so DO IT!!

Anybody out there own (or ever owned) one of the newer ParaOrdnance compact double column 1911s in .45acp? I', shopping, and I want to know, good or bad, impressions about accuracy and reliability.

We find it humorous (NOT!!!) the Morons Demand Action... er, MOMS Demand Action (how did I make that mistake?), a group claiming it wants to stop violence by forcibly disarming the good guys, is advocating SWATting people who open carry, anywhere they can, PLUS they are advocating that any MDA members who carry concealed (huh????) open fire immediately on anyone who open carried near them, because they are afraid the OC people might... shoot the MDA people for no reason at all.... Oh, what is SWATting, you ask? It's when someone calls 911 and LIES to the police about the actions of another in order to try to get the police to show up and gun down innocent people just carrying open in compliance with the law. Like Mr. Crawford, who you might remember from last week, who was gunned down in a Wal Mart for carrying a BB gun around in the store while talking to his wife about buying it for their son. A scumbag piece of shit SWATting Mr. Crawford, lied about Mr. Crawford's actions to 911, and the police who showed up fulfilled MDA's desires when they arrived and gunned Mr. Crawford down without warning.

It seems Moms Demand Action supporters aren't satisfied with just pressuring businesses to ban guns on their property. Apparently they believe exercising your legal gun rights is worthy of a death sentence.
Now they are openly engaging in an activity called "SWATing", which involves making false or grossly exaggerated calls to 911 about gun owners in public places. The caller's goal is to make it appear that the gun owner is an eminent threat so that police believe they are responding to a violent crime in progress, possibly an active shooting scenario.
Because of a SWATting call, John Crawford was shot to death by Beavercreek, Ohio police for merely holding a BB gun in the store and talking on the phone. A second innocent shopper died of a heart attack in the panic after police killed Mr. Crawford.
The SWATing victims are almost always law abiding citizens caught off guard when police show up at the scene with guns drawn, prepared for a gun fight.

After some good cops report the actions their bad superiors, the town finally decodes to shut down their police department. [Link]

WALDO, FL—The city council of Waldo, Florida voted 4-1 this week to disband its corrupt police department. While police in Waldo have been recognized for mistreatment of civilians, the department came under fire over illegal ticket quotas, deceptive court appearances, and unethical storage techniques. Waldo, a town of 1,000 residents and one stop light, was home to one of the most notorious speed traps in the country until aggravated cops reported their superiors.

Of course, none of these stories ever mention that the chief who ordered the ticketing was most likely ordered to do so by HIS bosses, the city council. OR that the cops who turned their boss in ALSO lost their jobs for doing good, but at least the speed trap is no more.

I cannot believe they are not charging this racist with murder for doing this—how DARE he shoot Spanish speakers simply because they were in his home threatening his family! [Link] Besides, if his mother had not been feeding her family, the armed entrepeneurs would not have been attracted by the savory smells!

On October 3, at about 4:30 a.m., a man opened fire on armed home invaders who forced their way into the family's house while the mother was cooking breakfast.
KHOU.com reports that the son was in his bedroom when he heard a commotion. He grabbed his gun and was walking toward the noise when he heard his mother beg the home invaders not to hurt her daughters. That's when the son confronted the invaders and opened fire.
One of the three suspects fired back before fleeing, the second suspect simply fled, and the remaining suspect died from the bullet the son fired at him.
Eight family members were in the home at the time of the incident, and police say none of them were injured.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office released scant information on the two suspects who are still at large. They did say that the suspects were speaking Spanish as they communicated with one another in the home.

Unbelieveable! (The REALLY sad thing is, some people will agree with how I wrote this, failing to comprehend sarcasm) Young man, I salute you for saving your family!

Okay, I don't get the problem—police were called and removed a potential terrorist from the bus. [Link] No, I'm not serious—this is another example of the massive over-reactions our schools and police.

Police in Springfield Township, Ohio boarded a school bus to remove a 6-year-old and his toy gun. The bus driver called police because he was playing with it on the bus.
The toy was a western style cap gun without any caps in it, and according to the bus driver, the 6-year-old first grader threatened to shoot another student with the fake weapon.
The bus driver then stopped the bus and took the toy gun from the child. Next, the driver called the police, and did not move the bus until police arrived. Whether or not the bus driver thought that this was actually a real gun is unclear.
Police Capt. Kenneth Ray called the child's actions "aggressive horseplay", and claimed that other students on the bus were terrorized.
Ray said that no charges will be filed against the child because of his age.
"He's only 6, so I don't know if he had any idea how serious it was," he said.

No, it WASN'T serious. What is serious is that police terrorized a child for being a child. The only reason kids on the bus got scared is because police showed up to arrest their schoolmate.

Isn't it disgusting? The city council of our nation's capitol displaying... hell, proudly proclaiming their total disregard for the Constitution. [Link] When the Supreme Court struck down their anti-Constitutional ban on private ownership and carry of handguns, they settled down to figure out ways to get around the Constitution.

Before long, the meeting turned to another subject. Since they were going to have to adopt an open-carry law, couldn't they circumvent the Constitution in another way? Maybe they could start a public registry! Grosso thinks that's a fabulous idea. "We should at least give our neighbors and residents a chance to know who has the gun, put it up there, let people be proud of it if they want to carry a concealed weapon. But at least we'll all know who it is and we can treat them differently because they have a deadly threat in their possession."
When another Councilman worried that this might infringe on the confidentiality rights of lawful gun owners, Councilwoman Yvette Alexander threw her biases out on the table. "Who cares about the confidentiality of a gun owner? We don't want it."

It's been said time and time again, but if you make owning and carrying a gun a crime, only criminals will own and carry guns. This isn't just a tautology; murderers, thieves, and gangsters aren't going to stop packing heat because it's against the law. Those who abide by the law, though, will be left without protection.

No, some of us will NOT be left unprotected. We will simply have to hide the bodies of our attackers.

MOGADISHU, Sept 27 (Reuters)—Somali al Shabaab militants stoned a woman to death in the southern town of Barawe on Friday after a court they had set up declared her guilty of adultery, the militants and witnesses said.
The group, which pledges loyalty to al Qaeda, has waged an armed campaign to impose its strict interpretation of Islamic Sharia law. Forced out of many areas of the east African country by African Union forces and the Somali army, al Shabaab is keen to show it has authority over areas it still controls.
Hundreds gathered to watch the killing of Safia Ahmed Jimale in an open field. The 33-year old mother was buried up to her shoulders and pelted with stones by masked al Shabaab fighters and local men.
