Attribute to L. Neil Smith's The Libertarian Enterprise

The other day, somebody sent me a photograph of a gaggle of United Nations troopies—in my new novel Ares I call them “Yoonies”.),all crowded together under their bright blue helmets and supposedly preparing to invade the United States. I cannot guarantee the authenticity of that photograph or confirm or deny the claim that is made with its support. There’s a lot of garbage floating around out there in cyberspace. I can only observe objectively that the brilliant robin’s-egg blue of their headgear makes them extremely good targets at a couple of hundred yards.

You may consider the following a disclaimer: I deeply detest the United Nations and its unceasing, vicious, hypocritical attempts to undermine individual liberty, especially in this country. It is an organization of all the scumbags in the world who view freedom and absolute self-ownership as some kind of threat. I once suggested that a Libertarian Presidential candidate could raise a great deal of money by raffling off the chance to put an RPG-7 round through their building in Manhattan, once they were evicted from North America. As usual, nobody inside the cowardly and short-sighted Libertarian Party paid attention.

Be that as it may, the people of this country must be made aware, however, that it has already been successfully invaded, by a sinister entity grimly determined, for some perverse reason of his own, to deny us all the protections of our Bill of Rights—the one and only thing that makes America exceptional—to seize control of local and state politics in Colorado and other places, and to oppress us under exactly the same politico-economic system that is in the final stages of destroying the once-prosperous and (in the original meaning of the word) progressive nation of Venezuela. It would be fair (and illustrative) to say that Venezuela is suffering with Stage Four socialism.

That sinister entity is the international multizillionaire who calls himself George Soros. But he was born György Schwartz, a Hungarian, it seems, who Wikipedia says is one of the thirty richest individuals in the world. It is twistedly supposed to be “anti-Semitic”, somehow, to reveal that his first teenage jobs consisted of running errands for the Nazis in Budapest. I wonder whether Simon Wiesenthal would have thought that outing a larval Nazi, a mortal enemy of Jewish people everywhere, is anti-Semitic. Or perhaps I’m violating Godwin’s “Law” (look it up). My answer to that, as it is to all such attempts to shout the truth down, or shut off legitimate inquiries is “Cui bono?”.

The man is a vampire, making money by manipulating money, no matter who gets hurt in the process. His most famous act, in that respect, was an attempt to destabilize the already-shaky British economy by “breaking” the Bank of England. I wonder if he’s any more welcome in Old Blighty than Michael Savage, sternly declared persona non grata for his political incorrectitude.

And yet articles that I’ve read about Soros are overflowing with praise of his philanthropy—the guy’s supposedly given away 11 billion dollars—and the way that he always champions “liberal” or “Progressive” causes. While left-wing politicians, here in Colorado and elsewhere, corruptly suck up the cash for doing Soros’ vile bidding, try to remember that at least 100,000,000 (one hundred million) Americans own about 750,000,000 (seven hundred fifty million) guns. Soros wants his bought-and-paid-for hacks to forbid us to do that any more. He wants to enjoy seeing our personal, defensive weapons forcibly taken away from us. I think he stupidly believes that we wouldn’t fight back. In fact, such an undertaking would utterly transform America—like acid thrown in a beautiful woman’s face. If you think about—try to visualize—what an effort to carry out Soros’ evil wishes would actually look like, then you have the full measure of the man. Compared to such a “liberal” and “Progressive” enforcement and confiscation program, the Holocaust would look like small potatoes.

I have a much better, far more peaceful and productive idea, First of all, Congress must declare Soros, who is a fairly recently naturalized citizen of the United States, to be an enemy of the people of this country and of our heritage, almost two and a half centuries long, of individual liberty. Sort of the opposite of a Presidential Medal Of Freedom. Any politician who is unwilling to vote to do that should be considered an enemy, as well. Soros must be rudely stripped of his citizenship and immediately deported.

Best of all, Soros’ assets here in America must be frozen, like those of the Iranians during the Jimmy Carter Hostage Crisis, and perhaps used to pay off our massive national student debt. (Another time we will discuss how to reorganize our affairs so that “education” doesn’t become indentured servitude.) What, that sounds too socialistic for you? It’s only what somebody like Soros would approve of highly—if it wasn’t his money being taken.

I’m sure that Soros has mountains of mazuma stashed overseas, maybe even a couple of gigantic money bins to swim in like Scrooge McDuck, but I love to think of this would-be eastern European dictator and slaughterer of millions of innocents standing on a street corner somewhere, begging for nickels with a tin cup.

Visualize that, as well.
