L. Neil Smith’s THE LIBERTARIAN ENTERPRISE
Number 904, January 1, 2017

I’m not saying there are no good people in
southern California. You know who you are.
So do I. I implore you: come to America, come
back to America, while they’ll still let you.

Not surprisingly, a petulant and very childish center of resistance to the reforms that Donald J. Trump has promised America seems to be the silly state of California, under the “leadership” of its feckless and hapless Governor Edmund Gerald “Jerry” Brown, Jr. Under his new “Second Amendment Nullification” Act, all sorts of Jim Crow-like restrictions have been passed into law, including the certifiably insane requirement that an individual pass a background check each time before buying ammunition. It also bans nagazines that hold more than ten cartridges. If you happen to own one now, you must turn it in for crushing.

Yeah, right.

Click on [this link]to read even more asininity. I simply don’t have the stomach to report these travesties at length and in detail. It would appear that (some of) the people of the state of California have imposed this monument to tyranny and historical ignorance on themselves and their neighbors. If we follow Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership’s (JPFO’s) well-documented table of historic genocides, California will be the next society to suffer mass death, no matter how absurd thst prediction may seem now.

Hitler appeared absurd in his day, before we got the full measure of the man. A creature like Jerry Brown signing an order for the mass-liquidation of political undesirables (or deplorables) doesn’t seem that far-fetched to me. When it happens, try to remember who predicted it.

America’s Founding Fathers wrote the Second Amendment into the Constitution (indeed, the entire Bill of Rights) so that the natural freedoms it protects (in this case, to own and carry weapons) would never be subject to the totalitarian whims of legislators, judges—or even voters. The Bill of Rights was designed to protect the individual and civil liberties of minorities of all kinds against the malign will of the majority. The proper legal process for repealing Constitutional amendments is long, arduous, and nearly impossible, exactly as it should be. Even then, the rights, which pre-existed the Constitution, remain intact. Any lawyer knows that, and must blank it out of his mind to make this kind of mischief. This nasty business in California is a farce that cannot be allowed to stand. The electorate has no legal right or power to enforce it. It was null and void the very day it was conceived. Competent judges in a free state would never even have let it on the ballot.

When I was young, and various southern states were battling to maintain racial segregation in numerous social and political institutions, the President, Dwight David Eisenhower, finally got tired of seeing the law distorted to deprive one group of people of the natural, civil, and human rights they shared with everybody else. He activated the National Guard and used its guns and bayonets to protect little children, who simply wanted to go to the schools their parents had paid for, from the shotguns, axe-handles, and firehoses of established local authority. I was there; I saw it on local TV.

I call on President Donald Trump, once he gets into office, to activate the National Guard in southern California to reverse this utter disgrace, Moreover, this abysmal and pathetic excuse for a governor, Jerry Brown, should be removed from office in leg-irons and belly-chains and jailed, preferably on Alcatraz. He has joined the ranks of Orville Faubus, Lester Maddox, George Wallace, Robert Byrd (Hillary’s mentor), and Bull Conners in this attempt to step on and dirty everything America is supposed to be about.

To take it a step further, we have been hearing infantile whining from southern Californians from Sacramento, through San Francisco, to Los Angeles, that, following the unthinkable election of Donald Trump, the state ought to secede and become its own country. I’m completely in favor of that. California, especially Hollywood, has become a blight and a stain on the rest of America. But why wait for a state full of idiots and incompetents to get their act together? Eject them now—on two conditions: the people of northern California, peaceful, productive agriculturalists, for the most part—grownups—have long dreamed of seceding from the rest of the state and founding a new state, to be called “Jefferson”. I say, fine. Southern California would have its independence (and be annexed by Mexico within a year) and the USA would still have fifty states.

Also, people living in “Red” communities adjacent to free states would have the right to secede and join these other states.

One small complication: the Donald’s Wall would need to have a large north-south extension to keep the Real West from being overrun by refugees. I’m not saying there are no good people in southern California. You know who you are. So do I. I implore you: come to America, come back to America, while they’ll still let you.
