L. Neil Smith’s THE LIBERTARIAN ENTERPRISE
Number 910, February 19, 2017

Nobody voted for the man because they
thought he is a libertarian. He is not.
I don’t know what he is, and I don’t
think he does, either. The important
thing is that he isn’t Hillary Clinton.

Medical Freedom!

PROJECT MEDICAL FREEDOM: pass this on to everyone you know and post it somewhere every day until it’s no longer necessary. Tell your Senators and Congressmen and anybody else who’ll listen. that America doesn’t need to “replace” Obamacare, once it’s repealed. What America needs (to be great again) is TOTAL SEPARATION OF MEDICINE AND STATE.

Mr. Knapp

Re: “Letter from Tom Knapp”

More accurately, being more anti-Hillary than anti-Trump, and being rewarded by someone who’s (a) keeping many of his promises (with more to come) and (b) looking out for “the forgotten man” occasionally is a breath of fresh air relative to what the alternative would have been (with any of the other candidates, but particularly with Ms. Rodham-Clinton).

Letter from J. Neil Schulman

On the State of Israel

1. http://www.freedomsphoenix.com/Opinion/212823-2017-02-16-trump-praises-rogue-state-israel.htm?From=News

Stephen Lendman, I’ve been reading your rants against the State of Israel for a while now. I have a question: is it that Israel is a State, or Jewish? To this anarchist the distinction matters. There’s no ethnic “Palestinian” people. Until 1948 the movement for a Palestine independent from Britain—Zionism—was a movement for a Jewish homeland on territories Jews had lived in ancient times. One can, as I’ve done, debate the wisdom of creating a mega-ghetto for the Jewish survivors of ghettos attacked by Czars, Communists, traditional anti-Semites, and Nazis—but Jewish nationalism is no more evil than any other homeland movement . There are 22 Sunni Muslim Arabic states. There doesn’t need to be a 23rd. Tell me why Jews are less worthy of a nationalist homeland than Germans, French, Dutch, Italians, Spanish, etc. If you’re a globalist opposed to all ethnic nationalist states out yourself but stop pretending ethnic nationalism is particularly evil only when pursued by Jews.

2. Trevor Lyman—who organized the amazingly successful Ron Paul Money Bombs—asked on his Facebook page, “Is the United States a friend of Israel, or a slave to Israel?”

I replied in two messages (combined here):

Trevor Lyman: Wrong question. Based on incomplete assumptions.

Take SDI, for example. When the United States by arms-control treaty was constrained from developing missile-defense SDI technology the development was handed off to Israel, which developed it and returned it to the United States.

See also Charlie Wilson’s War, the movie. When the CIA needed to provide arms with plausible deniability to the Mujahedin in Afghanistan in their fight against the Soviet occupiers, Israel was the source of the weapons used to bring down Soviet helicopters.

Let me also point out that Israel is an opponent to globalism. Zionism has always been a Jewish nationalist movement, and nationalism is a direct enemy of what both the left and Neocon right want. Also in opposition to the worldwide caliphate advocated by radical Islam.

Israel is also the bĂȘte noire of the United Nations. Hated on left- dominated college campuses. Those are powerful endorsements, as far as I’m concerned.

J Neil Schulman commented on his own tweet: Then again, look at it this way. It’s the opposite of the Trail of Tears because all the Arabic Muslims being forced out of camps in so-called Palestinian territories where they have no freedom and no economic life—no future—get to Sharia-Aliyah in a holy land of their own, a land of milk and petroleum, no longer being forced to live adjacent to those despised Jewish next-door neighbors.

Another Letter from J. Neil Schulman

Free Books

Saturday, February 18, 2017, is the 20th anniversary of my eight- hour, noon to eight pm “Vulcan Mindmeld with God” that ended my atheism without resort to religion, scripture, or faith.

To celebrate that two-decade anniversary I’m making the Kindle editions of the two books resulting from that experience and in the Free Radical Bookstore—my comedy fantasy novel Escape from Heaven and my autobiographical The Heartmost Desire—free on Amazon for a few days, beginning this Saturday February 18th.

Escape from Heaven https://www.amazon.com/Escape-Heaven-J-Neil- Schulman-ebook/dp/B01MSDKJF5/

What would you do if God prayed to you for help?

“This is Duj Pepperman and you’re on 680 K- TALK.”

“Duj, this is God, calling from Heaven. I can’t believe I got through. I’m one of your biggest fans!”

With this first-ever call-in from God, an L.A. radio talk-show host is sent on a mission from God that takes him to Heaven—then back to earth—on a rollercoaster adventure that includes meetings with the most famous celebrities in Heaven and on earth. Along the way he learns the origins of our universe, the meaning of life, and how the War between God and Satan will turn out. A comic journey that is inspiring atheists, agnostics, Christians, and Jews, and is generating controversy even among Evangelical Christians!

The Heartmost Desire

The Heartmost Desire is author/filmmaker J. Neil Schulman’s most personal book, containing his manifesto for why liberty is necessary for human self-realization and happiness, and his autobiographical description of the experiences that led him from atheism to God, but still relying on reason and rejecting religion, scripture, and faith.

“The Lord ain’t my shepherd
Cause I ain’t no sheep.
I’m a god in a body
Not Little Bo Peep.”
By Steven Vandervelde on September 4, 2013
Review of J Neil Schulman’s new book, The Heartmost Desire

What is the essence of the individual human identity? We might call it the personality or the ego, that which makes me, me. Is it any less real to call it the soul, the spirit or the divine spark? I do not see why it should be, if we are talking about the same thing. Thus, the above poem could be misleading to anyone who decides not to read further.

Schulman is a philosopher, not a theologian. He writes about his own personal experience and his interpretation of that experience, and never demands that we accept his view on faith. He is not trying to create a cult following. He is attempting to open a reasoned discussion. Basically, his is telling us a story, a story about what happened to him, and what he thinks it means. We are free to take it or leave it, to accept the possibility that he believes what he is saying and not trying to fool us, or to refuse to understand and misrepresent his intention, as, unfortunately, many have done.

In the end, it does not really matter if Neil’s personal understanding of his experience is true or false. It is his experience, not ours. What matters is how we chose to understand what he is telling us. No understanding will be gained by a swift and superficial reading of his thoughts.

It is crystal clear to anyone who has written poetry, to anyone how has written fiction, or told a story, that there are other forms of communication besides solid logic and hard reason.

Imagination.
