Something that has bothered me for a long time is the perversion of language that is always done by Marxists and the fellow-travelers (fascists, anti-fascists, authoritarians, totalitarians, jackasses).

Today�s counter-revolution against liberty is being fought on a number of fronts in American society. One is on college and university campuses across the country, where the ideology of �political correctness� is strangling freedom of speech and smothering intellectual controversy and debate. If we are unable to communicate accurately, we are in for trouble! And we are in trouble now, for sure.

Perhaps the worst thing Marx ever did is successfully make everything into politics. And I do mean everything! What to have for lunch�that is politics. Walk to the north or to the east�politics. What book to read next�politics. What flavor of ice cream to have�politics. To say “howdy!” or “hello!”�politics.

Now a sensible person knows or should know that those things are not political. But after decades of schooling that is really indoctrination, we find many, many people applying a political eye to … everything, even things that are not political in any rational sense.

Now, Politics is nothing more than the struggle to impose one person’s will on another person or group of persons. Or one group’s will. And that imposing is mostly just for the joy of dominating, even if dressed-up in some kind of justifying smoke-screen of a reason. Some people just want or need to dominate other people. And that, my deplorables, is all that Politics is about. Most politics is more a matter of mental illness than policy.

And here is the hoot of the week: it seems that Google had a research program to find out if the interviews they used to make hiring decisions were useful or not. What they found was that minorities (except asians) and ivy-league graduates had the best recommendations by interviewers. But it was the lower-rated: asians, and *gasp* white-men, and graduates of non-elete colleges who had the best results as actual employees. Scott Adams not only has the funniest daily funny, but he is one of the most insightful commenters on current events around. This last week he explains “How To Know You�re In a Mass Hysteria Bubble”. And talk about hitting the nail right dang square on the head! My wife had just been complaining that so many of her “friends” (i.e. Facebook friends) had seemingly gone completely insane, and Mr. Adams has the complete and exact explanation of what/why/how and maybe where, too. I see that “Nature and Nature’s God”—as Mr. Jefferson put it—have arranged a solar eclipse for my 70th birthday. Thankyouverymuch! This will be the 3rd one I have experienced. They have all been partials though. Will I one day view a total? Probably not, but that’s okay, it got dark every single day of those 70 years, so I already know what that’s like.
