Letter from A.X. Perez

Fallen Angels

On Monday 20 November 2017 I posted the following on Facebook:

“What is the difference between banning personal weapons because criminals and madmen abuse them and banning vitng (I meant voting, I claim title of King of the typos) because madmen and criminals win elections? Political power is much deadlier than guns and knives.”

Of course I meant this to point out that no one would support the latter, so why do they support the former? Then I remembered calls to restrict the franchise after Trump was elected president. These calls precede his election (Google “people too ignorant to vote”) but became louder the day after he won.

The gist of these is that anyone who does not support the liberal/progressive viewpoint held by the authors is too ignorant, stupid, and/or evil to be trusted with the right to vote. In these authors’ minds, only people who agree with them are morally or intellectually fit to vote. Frighteningly, in their self righteousness they fail to see the totalitarian nature of their stand.

Leftist students in many of our universities insist on silencing their opponents by force. They believe they are acting righteously, defending freedom. they don’t seem to understand the freedom they defend is the freedom of the slave to obey.

The so called Progressives want freedom of speech and press, but only for those who spout the Party line. They want freely elected governments, but only those who agree with their goals are free to elect the government. And they want guns only in the hands of the agents of a state they control used to enforce their agenda. They are, after all, on the side of the angels and must save the rest of us from ourselves.

Of course they forget that Satan and his minions in Hell are angels, fallen angels, but still angels.

Franken Privileges

First rule of comedy is never leave out the funny. I’m sure Senator Al would agree.
