The modern Republican Party, despite the claims of
contemporary revisionists as having been “a liberal party” at its foundation,
was philosophically conservative, nationalist, protectionist and Hamiltonian
in its founding.

I’ve often wondered about this. But I wonder if it might occur to anyone that the republicans also started Progressivism? Not too big a stretch considering so many of them are fighting tooth and nail to stop the swamp from being drained?
