The problem is that most humans are not
intellectually superior or morally superior
to others. Most humans are—sing it with me—
average. That’s why we call it average.

Preaching to the Choir
I direct the following at Spanish speaking readers of TLE. As Spanish speakers become a larger percentage of the population, many in liberal/progressive areas, it is important this become a part of our thought:
Estar libre no es gratis, y eso es y siempre sera como debe ser.
To be free is not gratis, and that is how and always shall be how it should be.
Freedom can be gained or lost, but it always has a price. 'tis a pity free is a synonym for gratis in English.

Was that worth reading?
Then why not:
It has been claimed that freedom is the greatest wisdom. It has been said that freedom is the greatest amount of power a person may have, and therefor imposes greater responsibility than any other power.
Let us never forget that the world is ruled by men and women who view freedom as the greatest crime. If you would be free prepare to ride the outlaw trail.

Lies
Take the time to look up the total number of people killed in mass shootings for any single year. You will find out 2 things. More people were knifed to death in any year than killed in mass shootings. However by switching the discussion back and forth between mass shootings, murders with guns, and total death rate with guns including suicides, proponents of gun control make it seem that high school mass killings are more frequent and deadlier than they are. People are kept scared, riled up, panicked.
The rich keep getting richer, and the poor keep getting richer, just not quite as fast. On a worldwide basis we are solving the problem of poverty. Leftist politicians like to make it sound like the rich are getting richer by making the rest of us poorer. So now we have people calling for a return to 70% maximum income tax, a 2% tax on capital (as opposed to capital gains), and if I’m not mistaken (please tell me heard wrong) a plan where corporations would remain the property of their owners but the state would manage them.
Keep people riled up enough about the rich getting rich by stealing from the poor and middle class and/or politically oppressing us and they just may get away with it. It has been said that the problem with democracy is that sooner or later the plebians realize they can vote themselves largesse. American socialists are trying to create a situation where if we don’t support them we won’t eat. As the straw bosses in H. Beam Piper’s “A Slave Is a Slave” pointed out if something belongs to everyone, it really belongs to whoever manages it for everyone.
Guess who Warren, Pelosi, Schumer, and Ocasio-Cortez see owning everything.

I am growing convinced that the goal of those masterminding the “gun control” movement is to trigger an armed uprising a la The McMinn County War only much bigger. If they win, we end up with a gun free tyranny. If they lose, some of them can end up on the winning side and leave us with a tyranny of ID cards, loyalty oath, curfews, and other “emergency measures” for an emergency that never ends. Maybe they hope it will turn into the armed struggle of the American Communist Revolution.

This is El Paso! Ooh!
There are supposed to be 683,577 people living in El Paso Texas. That’s just the City, this does not include the county. Donald Trump has succeeded in pissing us all off claiming we were a dangerous city until the local Border Wall (AKA the Tortilla Curtain) went up. The fact is crime, including cross border crime, peaked in 1993, and crashed with a crackdown by the EL Paso PD on the streets and the local Border Patrol taking to to patrolling the River. When the money to build the wall finally came though around 2006 El Paso’s crime rate had all but bottomed out, partly from vigorous law enforcement and a lot from the people of El Paso just being really nice people.
Please don’t confuse this with weakness. The police around here have commented several times that charges would not be made until it was sure a killer had not acted in self defense. Liberals, as in Bernie-voting millennials, pack heat and support gun rights.
I’m not saying there is no support for having a Wall on parts of the Border in this town. However, President Trump insulted about 683,577 Pachucos by suggesting we needed the Wall to bring us Law and Order.
