I don’t have a lot of money. That’s not bellyaching, it’s just stating the place in the financial scam of things where I find myself. Not a lot of money, but not poor. In fact, I’d argue the point that I’m rich in life, with my incredible children, incomparable wife, and my own acceptible-at-my-age health. I have food in my belly, a roof over my head, and books a-plenty. But money? Nope. Don’t think I ever have.

Yet, at no point in time have I looked at those who have more than I do and feel that they owe me something. What’s theirs is theirs and good for them. Even if I don’t like them, I don’t want what’s theirs. I didn’t earn it, and I try not to be a parasite.

So why is it, then, that there are so many out there, many of whom are better off than I am, who see someone prospering, and their first thought is to punish them for achieving by taking away what’s theirs? It isn’t because of some kind of social justice, because theft isn’t justice. It isn’t to help out their fellow man, as they would never go so far as to take significant amounts from themselves, as they need it more, what with how busy they are stealing from others to help out the greater good. It’s none of these things. Though I will tell you what it is:

Hate. They hate achievers more than they hate anything. They look at By-His-Bootstraps mentalities and grimace and gnash their teeth, and they hate, because they are incapable of that kind of grit, because they are lesser things than the rest of us. They are thieves who hide their thievery behind the false face of equality. Because, as I’ve said before, and as I will swear to until the day that I die: forced equality isn’t equality!

It is only an idiot or a villain who looks at the past failures of socialism, communism, or government-enforced social restructuring and sees not failures but near misses, things that they will do better this time. I can look as so many of our Representatives in government and see idiots, with a complete lack of historical knowledge—to say nothing of their lack of articulation, daft buffoons who look at Orwell and see utopia—who think that the Cold War was fought over a particularly chilly winter.

But there are far too many of that other kind, that creature that doesn’t have to be dehumanized because they make beasts of themselves. To paraphrase Doc. Johnson, they have gotten rid of the pain of being a man. I am unsure if they want to make the United States into a USSR part 2, or if they are so agonized at the perpetual failures of communism, along with the limitless successes of capitalism, that they are trying to sink the ship.

Would they rather burn it all down? I know that they have no problem with the idea of children and the elderly being murdered in the name of progressive America. As such I have little doubt that they are willing to go up, themselves, if for no other reason than to provide the kindling on which we burn.

They are thieves and cowards, but it is more than that. They are belligerent soldiers, actively fighting a war meant to reduce us, as a people, to nothing more than they wish us to be: slaves.

With every new act passed through Congress, we see a country where more and more people are completely dependent on the Fed, less likely to vote them out of office while there’s still the chance. If they get their way, one day soon we will all be so utterly dependent on the government that to get them out of our daily lives will be an unworkable thing, possible only through the bloodshed that such social upheavals generate.

We are—even those of us who are particularly active in our small communities—individuals, not worker ants who go along with the status quo and do what they’re told, regardless of the idiocy of it. We each look at the world and our places in it with individual eyes and points of view, and they hate us for it.

We are unpredictable, unruly, and belligerent. Thank God for it. Without these traits, and others that identify us as citizens of America, we’d never have won the Revolutionary War, the Cold War, and the daily battles against tyranny that crop up every day from the powers that be. I believe in my heart that we, as a people, are still ready, willing, and able to fight the good fight, for not only our own sakes, but those of our progeny. We are not all empty-headed, hive-minded lunatics. We are a proud people. Proud of our freedoms, of those who fought and died to guarantee them for us. So if we are going to be worthy of those sacrifices, and the chances for greatness that walk hand in hand with them, we need to step up. We need to be the light in the darkness, not the muted voice of quiet acceptance.

The time to be nice is over. The time to stand up and say, “Enough!” is past due. Sad as it is to say it, the war for the heart of America has started, whether we wanted it or not. They—the Left; the socialist filth that would take from you all those things that are yours—started this fight. It’s past time we showed them the err of their ways.
