Number 167, April 1, 2002
Eel Douche, Eh?

"A libertarian is a person who believes that no one has the right, under any circumstances, to initiate force against another human being, or to advocate or delegate its initiation. Those who act consistently with this principle are libertarians, whether they realize it or not. Those who fail to act consistently with it are not libertarians, regardless of what they may claim." -- L. Neil Smith

[EDITOR'S NOTE: It seems appropriate - though it is purely serendipitous - that we have an Easter-time 'debate' about the "freedom to abort". William Westmiller and James Antle have been patiently waiting to offer a point/counterpoint on the subject for some time. Neil and I have been talking for several years about doing an "all-abortion" issue; in lieu of that, Bill's and Jim's offerings appear in this issue (articles 5 & 6). Without doubt, there will be more to come. One cautionary note for those tempted to weigh in: I will reject any article that strays too far from objectivity, especially those that contain ad hominem attacks. This subject is sufficiently volatile without injecting too much 'personality' into it. Thanks! - ed.]
