"Gun control is the idea that it's better to see a woman dead in an alley, strangled
with her own pantyhose, than to see her with a gun in her hand."—T.D. Melrose

ARES: A Sneak Peek

A Vote for Hillary is A Vote for War
A Vote for Hillary is A Vote for War

The Libertarian Party seriously needs
to find better candidates than the
rejects from the Republican Party.

ARES: A Sneak Peek
by L. Neil Smith
The Battle of the Rubble Pile, as it came to be known forever afterward, like many another famous battle, was over in only a few minutes. Somehow Reuben Jackson and Billy Ngu had anticipated Colonel Atherton-Nye's clever “strategy” and out-pincered her. The Marines left their weapons where they’d dropped them and the Martians let them lay—it wasn’t as if they were going to be damaged by the rain.

The Ethics of Argumentation
by Hans-Hermann Hoppe
At repeated requests from many sides—and given my already advanced stage in life—I have deemed it appropriate to take this opportunity to speak a bit about myself. Not about my private life, of course, but about my work. And not about all subjects—and there are several to which I have made some, however little contribution in the course of the years—but one subject only. The one subject, where I consider my contribution the most important: the apriori of argumentation as the ultimate foundation of law.

“Mine” Vs. “Yours”
by Mike Blessing
From what I’ve seen in thirty years of being involved on the public scene, there seem to be two basic mindsets towards life, liberty, property, pursuit of happiness, money, time, effort, you name it, where politics is concerned.

The Problem with Johnson
by Sean Gangol
In my “Election Day” article, I mostly discussed the prospect of a Trump presidency because I didn’t think a Hillary Clinton presidency was even worth mentioning. Even more so with Gary Johnson because he has a better chance of winning a gold medal in women’s figure skating then becoming president. Still there are many issues that I take with Gary Johnson and the Libertarian Party itself. Even if the Libertarian Party doesn’t have a shot in hell of winning the presidency, they should at least make sure that they have the right guy representing their party.

The Real Presidential Election
by J. Neil Schulman
What happens at the polls on November 8, 2016 in the U.S. presidential election simply does not matter. It’s not unimportant because balloting itself will be tampered with, which is how the media spin it when Donald Trump says the election is rigged.

Definitions of “Asshole”
by Nic Leobold
This could be an extremely long article, but for the purposes of this year 2016 and the election season, I’m going to try going with a Short Version…

If you haven't read/voted go read What Shall I Write Next? by L. Neil Smith.

I have it on good authority that should you ever have to shake hands with House Speaker Paul Ryan you should grasp his hand firmly and then shout “I’ve just grabbed a pussy!” No, really!

An exciting article this ish, “The Ethics of Argumentation” by Hans-Hermann Hoppe. At least exciting to me, perhaps people unaquainted with philosophy will not find it so. It is always great to see a new “axiom” (or whatever you want to call it) added to the small collection of Axioms of Human Civilization. Or at least Western Civilization. In other words the things that are self-evidently true else you contradict yerself, and trying to claim they are not true runs you around in circles going nowhere.

And J. Neil Schulman reminds us that We The People don't really elect the president, Them The Electorial College does. And they can pretty much really vote for anybody.

Also in this ish, Our Publisher gives us a sample chapter from his forthcoming book Ares.

Trigger Warning: This issue of this magazine (like all the others) may contain:
