Freedom Week

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.—That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

If I remember correctly, this coming week is Freedom week in Texas. Social studies teachers are expected to review American ideals of freedom, the Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence. Part of the State prescribed lesson for this week is that students memorize the portion of the Declaration quoted above in italics. This is okay as far as it goes, but it is pleasing to authoritarians as well as libertarians. Therefor I recommend that parents and honest teachers make sure that kids learn the portion quoted in bold face.

America is undergoing revolutionary change now, and I'd like to see us get it closer to right than not.

Labor Day was kind of a hurried affair after staying up too late and then sleeping in til 10:30. Managed to squeeze in the stain & sealing of the vivarium platform and a cookout and tossed the turts some microwaved Dubia Roaches before rushing off to work.

Got everything back in place later that night and it looks good. I’ve been letting it sit for the time being while I think things out and search for the ultimate solution. Leaning toward Frog Cube because my search for material is not going well. Lowe’s coming home from an 11 to 7P shift yesterday evening was a bust. And ditto for Busy Beaver, Lowe’s and Brillhart’s . I’ll probably be sourcing my glass from the latter regardless.

I like Frog Cube because it’s got venting and misting options built in. The only drawback is I may need to consult with the inventor to see if he can custom print the upper piece so it can fit onto a pane like the bottom one instead of having to snap onto the rim of an aquarium. That will keep the need for additional hardware to a minimum.

If I do get it—this will be my first use of product of 3D printing in the hobby!
