He even goes so far as to suggest an icon linking to these sites should be placed on each PC. He also says people who set up websites should be encouraged as a matter of course to set up links to sites with differing views and adds that government regulation of such a system is worth considering. Excerpt: Getting the right perspective of the terror threat is the most important part of breaking the FEAR the government is using to terrorize the American public and the world! Endless fake terror alerts to which the media acts with hysteria, resulting in a form of fear based mind control that zombifies the general public to act without the ability to THINK for itself. Excerpt: He was able to show scientifically that behaviors in animals could be established or erased by creating the appropriate amount of stress for the animal. For example, with the right amount of stress, he could make a dog react aggressively to a caretaker with whom the dog was once extremely loyal. He applied stress to his animals through emotional means and through medical means. Regardless of the method, each animal had a certain level of tolerance to stress. Once that level was surpassed, the animal began to break down, and changes in the animal's behavior could be observed. [. . .] As a society, we fear a variety of things. Terrorist and weapons of mass destruction are two obvious examples. Our fear may make us vulnerable to the powers of suggestion by authorities as to how to best ease our anxiety. The difficulty is in discerning what we should be genuinely fearful of, and what fears are being used to push us toward alternative ways of thinking. How far are we prepared to go in preventively detaining people who are likely to commit crimes, but have not yet committed them? At 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 23 Henderson police went to the home of the 14-year-old who sent the original message, arrested him, and took him to the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center, where he was booked on charges of making threats or conveying false information concerning acts of terrorism. Excerpt: Orwell's Thought Police used psychology and surveillance to find and eliminate members of society who were capable of the mere thought of challenging ruling authority. In Britain today, the ruling authority is not using thoughtcrime so much as a way to stamp out all deviant thought, but rather as a mechanism to create the specter of pervasive terrorism and thus erect, piece by piece, the scaffolding of a police state. Apparently it is. Excerpt: I have witnessed students being singled out for wearing tall T's and baggy pants. Other things that have been banned are not being targeted by the administration, such as coats, chains and sunglasses. Enforcers in the district are specifically targeting the people involved in the hip-hop culture. Excerpt: Parents cannot prevent schools from taking their children's fingerprints, according to the Department for Education and Skills and the Information Commissioner. But parents who have campaigned against school fingerprinting might still be able to bring individual complaints against schools under the Data Protection Act (DPA). DfES admitted to The Register that schools can fingerprint children without parents' permission. Excerpt: There is current legislation pending in Congress to restrict the sale of bagpipes and equip them with child-safety devices. The influential bagpipe lobby is, of course, opposed to this. There have even been several proposals for requiring a so-called "trigger lock" on chanters! Every year there are reports of hundreds of innocent children, attracted by the shiny black, seductive drones of an unattended instrument in an unlocked case who are traumatized for life by the attempts of a playmate to get a sound out of it, or who may suffer a collapsed lung or the effects of hyperventilation by trying the same effort themselves. The owner's feeble "I didn't know the case was unlocked" is no excuse! Bagpipes should be stored out of reach of children.
