EDITORIAL MATTERS:

Well, now. Last issue I asked what kind of on-line buying of stuff and services Our Readers would like to see. And I got a grand total of zero answers. Not helpful.

I asked because this is a Reader-Supported Publication, and we like to serve our Readers not only with interesting and entertaining articles, but affiliate links to places where they can get what they're looking for.

In other news, still no Globular Warming up here in the mountains. No, Globular Cooling is what we're getting. At least no more snow, just cold, cold air. At least we've got air I guess. Be in a heck of a fix without it.

The donations line is still open for those Readers who'd like a chance to toss some support to this Reader-Supported Publication:

We need you Readers, of course—wouldn't be any point without you! But we need Writers, too! If you're looking for fame, fortune, groupies, and all that good stuff, try writing articles for us. Who knows, fame, fortune, and groupies might show up on your doorstep!

Global Warming
by Vin Suprynowicz
Since my gagged opponent remains silent, let me continue. . . A 2003 poll of 530 climatologists in 27 countries showed 34.7 percent of interviewees endorsed the notion that a substantial part of the current global warming trend—which might see temperatures rise by a degree or two, on average, by century's end—is caused by man's industrial activities: driving cars and the like. More than a fifth—20.5 percent—rejected this "anthropogenic hypothesis." The rest (half) were undecided.

Fox News: Fair, Balanced, and Completely Full of Crap
by Jonathan David Morris
For those of you who were lucky enough to miss it, the Fox News Channel recently aired a new show called "The Half Hour News Hour," which attempts to do for conservatives what Comedy Central's "Daily Show" and "Colbert Report" apparently do for liberals.

Bad Aim
by Lady Liberty
Recently in the news was the story of a Utah teenager who shot and killed several people in a shopping mall. Nine people were wounded and five died before the gunman was shot and killed himself. Although this real life and death drama was overshadowed by the larger-than-life and death drama of Anna Nicole Smith in the media, the Brady Campaign tH; o Prevent Gun Violence wasn't about to miss the opportunity to rail yet again against guns.
