THE CURRENT ISSUE

EDITORIAL MATTERS:

Due to various problems, including a domain registrar not sending us a notice that registrations were about to expire, we are temporarily not at our usual URL on the web. This should get fixed quickly, but then again, it might not. Our high-speed internet, for example, has been running about one-twentieth of it's supposed speed (if not slower). And that's for the last TWO MONTHS! It's going to be fixed any day now, the phone company says. Any day now. Right.

Naturally I didn't write down a "renew domains" notice on my calendar because, well, because they always remind ya about these things. Right?

Big THANK YOU!s go out to the people who have donated cash money to help us get this fixed. Once a domain expires, it's a Royal Pain getting things set right. Ah well, life goes on, or limps on, or something like that.

Oh yes, the new donation URL is for a while:

http://ncc-1776.org/donate.html

Note the new email address for letters to the editor and submissions for the next little while. Or not so little while. Our Publisher Mr. L. Neil Smith keeps encouraging me to be an optimist. I'm trying, my friend, I'm trying.

One more thing: if you sent an article or letter and it's not in this issue, please send it again to the below address for next issue!

Anyway, welcome to Issue Number 440. A = 440!

Don't Waste Your Vote!
the Kaptain's Log

by Manuel Miles, aka Kapt Kanada
Every time there is an alternative to the identical twins of the DemRep Party in an American election, the lap dogs of the government-licenced media howl, "Don't waste your vote on third party candidates!" (This, of course, refers to anyone from outside the ranks of the oligarchy.) Their arguments, like all others, bear examination. . .

On the Cultivation and Exploitation of Gymnophobia by Tyrants
by Ann Morgan
I have been doing some thinking over the nudity taboo in our society, and how it serves the purposes of those who would tyrannize us. It does so in many different ways, which are hard to discern, because like air, gynophobia (fear of nudity) surrounds us to such an all-pervasive extent that it is hard to perceive.
