You run into them all over the place. Many of them are your friends, or at least acquaintances with whom you are on relatively friendly terms. They believe in gun control because they feel most people are too irresponsible to be trusted with guns, They admit they consider themselves to be too irresponsible to be trusted with guns.

There is no point in arguing with them or debating the point. A person who admits to being a fool and who considers it impossible to teach him (or her) better is probably right. This person deserves the right to go about unarmed, and all you can do is hope that they will never need a gun to defend themselves.

People too foolish to be trusted with guns shouldn't be trusted with motor vehicles, power tools, or other dangerous machinery. More importantly, they are carriers of the meme that says we all (as in the whole human race) are too foolish and impulsive to be trusted with the tools of self defense,They help spread that belief through our media, through our schools, through our churches and in our legislatures.

They are those whom Jeff Cooper called the rabbit people, and who I think of as domesticated humans. Whether they realize it or not they are already mentally conditioned to accept slavery. They are to be pitied, protected, and allowed to live out productive lives.

And their malicious influence in our society must be broken up by our assertions both in word and example that people must be free, can be taught the responsibility to handle weapons safely and appropriately, and that our kids must be educated accordingly.

Or we will permit the creation of a world of happy slaves and humane masters for our posterity.
