""Conservatives—Republicans—are socialists.""

NOPE!

L. Neil Smith personally recommends Climate Depot

THE CURRENT ISSUE

EDITORIAL MATTERS:

A sign of the times: After Monday and Tuesday, even the calendar says "WTF".

In this issue L. Neil Smith continues his series of articles titled from the Declaration of Independence, Jim Davidson quotes from one of my favorite Philosophers, and there are numerous considerations of aspects of moving one's domicile. In fact there was a long series of letters on that that I simply haven't the strength to put into the magazine, as well as a long series about evolution, ditto. Perhaps these discussions should be carried out on one of the e-mail discussion lists we have:

Libertarian-Enterprise-2

Or mail to: [email protected]

This way our readers can go into things Ye Olde Editor is too old and weak to manage to put into the magazine. (Yes, getting old is for the birds, of which I'm not one of.) So just sign-up for one or both mailing lists, and then CC: your letters there so everyone can read and remark.

A fellow by the name of "Gadget42" suggests we spread the following around as much as we can (good idea!):

What If?
by Gary D. Barnett

What if it happened here in America? This seems to be a question that begs an answer, so why is it so ignored? Why is it ignored by government? Why is it ignored by the mass media? And why is it seemingly ignored by the American people at large?

What if?

What if a small group of extremist Americans high-jacked passenger planes in another country and flew them into skyscrapers in a major foreign city killing thousands of innocent people? Would it then be proper and moral for that country, and with the full use of its military, to attack and occupy the entire United States?....

To Reduce Them Under Absolute Despotism
by L. Neil Smith
The smirky caller asked, "You really believe Barack Obama is a socialist?" He went on to assert that the President is pro-business, a capitalist. The show's host—amazingly, one of talk radio's Big Three—stuttered and stammered inarticulately, never really answering the caller's question, until he was finally rescued by the next commercial break. The fact is, even if he'd known exactly what socialism is, and how to spot it in the people all around you, he wouldn't have dared to say so, because Republicans, conservatives, have a dirty little secret.

The Abyss Also Gazes
by Jim Davidson
Ask why are these wars? They benefit those who supply them. Ask, what of the children slaughtered? They aren't important to those who supply the wars. The people who make the profits from the multi-trillion-dollar war effort do not care about the children who are slaughtered, at all.

Everyone is talking about the news out of Arizona. The state legislature has passed a law which allows police to question people they "suspect" of being illegally in this country, and arrest anyone who is not carrying documentation proving their legal right to be here.
