The unabridged audio version of my 1983 novel The Nagasaki Vector, brilliantly read by the great libertarian radio host Brian Wilson, is finally available for purchase.

Many feel that this is the funniest book I've written so far—at least intentionally—and features our old friend Win Bear, G. Howell Nahuatl, a sapient coyote, time traveler Bernie Gruenblum, and Georgie, the time machine who loves him.

The price: $12.99.
The place: CD Baby.

I understand that it will soon be available in iTunes, as well.

THE CURRENT ISSUE

EDITORIAL MATTERS:

We received this letter:

I am a big fan of Matt Bracken.

Not only is he an alumnus of The University, but he writes adventure novels from a freedom supporting viewpoint, from the perspective of a former Navy Seal who has been 'on the sharp end.'

He is concerned about the Gunwalker scandals, AKA "Fast and Furious," (you know, where our government uses taxpayer currency to illegally buy and export weapons to the Mexican drug cartels?) and wants to rattle the cage of the enemies of freedom by spiking the Kindle sales of his first novel, Enemies Foreign and Domestic. Up until the Gunwalker scandal broke, I thought the premise of his first book (no, I am not going to spoil it—go to the website!) was a bit farfetched, but my opinion has changed since Gunwalker.

I think this is a great idea! For just a few dollars, you can at least shake the bars of our cage, and at the same time, put some currency into a good author's pocket. Please pass this along!

Here is the link.

From the Border
by A.X. Perez
The week of 19-25 February in El Paso, Texas. A woman was struck in Downtown El Paso by a stray bullet from a gunfight in Juarez. Bullet struck her leg and the wound is described as relatively minor. It could have been worse as she was pushing a pram. The round was from an AR-15 and the gunfight was between carjackers and the police. There is some debate as to who did the shooting as the J Town police use AR's. Even with this El Paso, where guns are fairly easy to purchase, remains safer than most cities "protected" by strict gun laws.

Flash Editorials February 27, 2012

The Nation: I'm leading off tonight with a very unusual offer. Matthew Bracken has written a trilogy of fiction novels in the Tom Clancy/Jason Bourne genre. His first book is entitled "Enemies, Foreign and Domestic." I read it and could not put the book down. They are set in today's America after the DC crowd has completed the takeover of America, just a few years forward. The two other novels continue the story of the first book and are page-turners, just like the first. If you want to learn about these books, go to Amazon and look them up. But Matthew wants to create a "Psyop"(psychological operation) in the USA with his first book. He's calling it "Operation EFAD." His plan is to give the book away FOR FREE as a Kindle download for FIVE DAYS ONLY beginning March 1, 2012. He will give this book to anyone who has a Kindle or a Kindle app on their PC or smart phone. Matthew is planning to make a hyper-viral event to draw attention to the way Washington is aggressively moving on Constitution-loving, gun-toting Liberty-minded Patriots. I strongly urge you to get involved. Get your downloaded copy of the book at Amazon.com. But more importantly, call, write or email everybody you know that believes the way we do and tell them about this FREE book. Be a part of this stunning spike in Kindle downloads and help fight tyranny.

How I Spend My Weekends
by L. Neil Smith
My lovely and talented wife Cathy, as you may know, is an undergraduate in the archaeology program at Colorado State University, but it's a very small department and she's being treated more like a grad student, which in this case is a good thing.

Why do it that way?

Earlier today, one of the people who has been following the progress of Individual Sovereign University since we organised our Yahoo group back in July 2009 asked me a series of very interesting questions: "Why are you raising funds through Kickstarter? Why isn't the new education centre being called a campus of the university? Why do it that way?"
