Winkler, Adam—Gun Fight: The Battle Over the Right to Bear Arms in America (2011) I have only recently embarked upon reading the above-captioned book, published last year, and I'm finding myself hating the hell out of this yet-another-constitutional-law-professor denigrating the freedom movement in general and the concept outlined by our Mr. Smith in his Atlanta Declaration (1987):
The perfumed son of a bitch seems to have little or no familiarity with the greatest part of the literature published over the past thirty years by those of us who oppose victim disarmamen laws. I would consider his public policy proposals void for vagueness were I not convinced that some grasping bastard is likely to jump on them as an excuse to abrogate the constraints of the Second Amendment, as Winkler clearly wants the permanent political class to do. (again) Back around Easter of 2012 the picture featured on TLE entitled "What Would Jesus Shoot" inspired a submission entitled "What Would Jesus Shoot?" It was assumed that the Carpenter King Who recommend that "He who has not a sword, sell your coat and buy a sword" would own an appropriate battery of weapons for defense of Himself and His friends, even if He wasn't a gun guy. About the same time Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (jpfo.org) printed a series of articles by Kirby Ferris advising people on what weapons they should buy to defend their lives, property, dignity, and liberty. He also assumed non gun people and what weapons best met their needs. He also assumed that he was advising non gun people on what weapons they should buy. Both writers were interested in reliable and inexpensive weapons that a non gun person should be willing to invest in and would find easy to master."What Would Jesus Shoot?" was written by someone living in a town where a certain minimum knowledge and skill in using firearms was until very recently the common heritage of all. I get the impression that Mr.Ferris was writing for people who had less opportunity to learn about guns and have them be part of a person's daily life. The guns listed by both authors were not necessarily the wishlist guns of a person who is a gun nut or a wannabe gun nut (except maybe the 870 pump shotgun. Apparently everyone agrees that the Remington 870 or its Mossberg equivalent is the best deal for a defensive pump shotgun. Me, I'm still trying to put together the funds for a good semi auto. Keep having automotive, plumbing, or medical emergencies. As a side note I think Jesus would have favored a stainless shotgun with synthetic furniture since several of His apostles were commercial fishermen who would have needed guns they could keep on their boats.). Neither would a true GN or WGN settle for a three gun battery. We need a minimum of six guns. Pistol, back up pistol,medium power rifle (e.g AR 15), full power rifle(e.g. M1A), shotgun, .22 pistol, and .22 rifle. And let's not forget accessories. We need to communicate to these people that the 2nd Amendment right
to keep and bear arms is precious to them. We need to communicate to
them that acquiring firearms and enough skill with them to be more
dangerous to their intended targets than themselves is a necessary
part of being a free human, right up their with doing simple math,
reading and write at at least eighth grade level, and keyboarding
on a computer. And we need to communicate with them that they must
psychologically prepare themselves for the day that they must use
these skills to defend their life, liberty, loved ones and property.
Because, A: the authorities aren't always there to do it for you,
and B: sometimes it's the authorities from which you need to protect
these things.
Because I am a liberty nut and I know that if I didn't like guns I
would still need them to protect my freedom. I also know that the
more people decide that their liberty is valuable, valuable enough
to defend by force if necessary, then my freedom will be safer. So
perhaps it's time to write gun article for people who are not gun
nuts, how to pick 'em, how to use 'em safely, and why knowing this
is necessary. Because otherwise we will find out what Marion Zimmer
Bradley meant when she wrote "Bare is back without brother."

If so I give Rahm Emmanuel the following advice. Clean up your PD. Every crooked cop needs to be fired or arrested. Otherwise they will be killed as partisans. Even worse, this will embolden your "gangstas" to force your honest cops to choose between "plata o plomo", silver or lead. While you're at it, burn all your made friends, or else you will turn your city into a war zone. Get rid of all gun control laws, before your small time crooks begin to expand their drug business to include protection rackets and kidnapping people for ransom. They will become so strong that if anyone fights back ten times as many sicarii will come after them as were there originally. There's more, but this is where you start. Otherwise you will wreck the city and the Chicago Machine. A.X. Perez
