THE LIBERTARIAN ENTERPRISE Number 736, September 1, 2013 Please don't quit just when we're almost where we want to be. Just when we're almost where we need to be. Attribute to L. Neil Smith's The Libertarian Enterprise I am not a fan of the death penalty—well, the GOVERNMENT death penalty. I love the death penalty administered at the hands of the intended victim (or a Samaritan bystander) at the scene of the intended crime. But I have to admit that I like the sentence of Nidal Hassan. It would, of course, be MUCH better if they ALSO executed the formulators of the gun free zone policy that led to the deaths of 13 soldiers (and if ANYONE would have been competent to shoot back, one would think it was soldiers) at the hands of the one man present who did not abide by that policy—the criminal in question. Link. Australia is held up by gun banners as a perfect example of how well gun bans work. Well, it DOES provide a perfect example of how well they work—horribly. Link. The New South Wales police commissioner Andrew Scipione had this to say about the spike in gun crime,
So it looks like the only ones left with all the guns are the criminals. And the gun policies that Australia has enforced are the exact ones that gun control pushers like Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Senator Dianne Feinstein want to see here in the U.S. As the article mentions,
Do you think there's even ONE honest Victim Disarmer that will ever mention this little truth? As usual, our president has decided to take on powers he doesn't have, to create laws he can't get passed. Link. Link2. Link3. He REALLY hates the 2nd Amendment and those of us who support it. That third one is especially offensive to me. Guns America already owns, that we loaned to other countries, and have been arsenal-re-worked and returned, and this idiot refuses to allow "We the People" to buy them from ourselves. No, instead, except for museums, he'd rather see these collector's pieces destroyed. He is ALSO deliberately bypassing Congress (or at least attempting to, we'll see how that one works) to attack Syria over WMDs (didn't he and Biden attack Bushie-poo over that?) without Congressional approval. Isn't it amazing how the very things he and his crew opposed when Bush did it (well, actually, BUSH had Congressional approval to attack Iraq, even though it was asinine to ill OUR people over an imaginary tie-in to 9-11), now that a DEMOCRAT does it, everything's hunky-dory. Remember our little discussion about the Nasty Spying Agency (NSA) trying to bully an American entrepreneur into abandoning his parody of the NSA logo? Want some laughs at the NSA's expense? Try these links. Link. Link 2. Apparently, the NSA stole copyrighted material to create the logo for the Prism system. and then, to make matters worse, we have the next link. Link 3. They used copyright laws to prevent people from printing copies of the logo the NSA violated copyright laws to use....... Well, I have started a new job, and I've been swamped. So this week's rant will be on the short side. See Y'all next week!
