Don't You Know There is a War On?
by Giovanni Martelli
Every two hundred years or so, there comes a time when the ruling
class fails to consider the tenuousness of its position, creating a system of tyrannical
government and power usurped from those who should hold it -- every man, woman, and child,
over him or herself exclusively.

Interview with Richard Blake
by Un-named interviewer
You're a historical novelist, which confuses some people when
they come across it first! What does it mean, and how do you blend fact and fiction
together through it? As a specific genre, the historical novel is only
about two centuries old. Historical fiction in the wider sense, though, is at least
as old as the written word. The Epic of Gilgamesh, the Homeric poems, the
narrative books of the Old Testament, Beowulf -- the earliest literature of
every people is historical fiction. The past is interesting. It's glamorous and
exciting. Perspective allows us to forget that the past, like the present, was
mostly long patches of boredom or anxiety, mixed in with occasional moments of
catastrophe or bliss. Above all, it's about us.

A Recovering Libertarian
by Sean Gangol
Recently I discovered this one particular article on The Libertarian
Enterprise Facebook page titled "Why I Fled Libertarianism and Became a Liberal." The
article was written by Edwin Lyngar of Salon, an online think tank of the left. Lyngar
claims that he once started off as a libertarian, but later became a liberal through a
series of experiences with other libertarians (so he says). What I find telling about his
article is that for a man who once claimed that he was a libertarian, he seemed to have a
fundamental ignorance of what libertarianism is all about. Some of his reasons for fleeing
libertarianism sound more like straw man arguments made by people who know little to nothing
about what it means to be a libertarian.

Neale's Weekly Gun Rant Volume 3-9-2014
by Neale Osborn
As has become my custom I shall begin this one with a piece from
Mama Liberty, AKA Susan Callaway, NRA certified instructor for firearms and self defense.
Today's entry is one of her older treatises on situational awareness and self defense.
EVEN if you are well trained in self defense, a few minutes to review the material, and
compare it to your regular practices might be a good idea.... Yes, Rob, they ARE hypocrites.
Didn't you realize that they've ALWAYS been more equal than the rest of us?
