I saw a headline the other day claiming that eight out of ten Americans believe that there is inevitably going to be another Holocaust.

The headline was based on a poll reported by Joseph Fara's World Net Daily, and was conducted on behalf of author Joel C. Rosenberg. I always take anything I read on WND with a grain or two of salt, all the more because I have a couple of highly respected friends who once worked there. I am uncertain whether I ever met Joel C. Rosenberg. In the 80s or 90s, I think, I had a conversation with someone named Joel Rosenberg that only managed to convince me he was a waste of space and oxygen.

Not unlike Joseph Fara.

As we have come to understand since the 1960s, when opinion polls appearing to favor sweeping victim disarmament began to be reported, you can get any result you want, depending how you frame the question: "If universal peace, love, and understanding would rule the world and we could all just get along and live together in a world of unicorns and rainbows—by outlawing guns—then would you favor outlawing guns?"

The Rosenberg/Fara poll was even cruder: "Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: 'If the world does not take decisive action, and the Iranian regime is permitted to build nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them, the Iranian regime will one day attempt to annihilate the state of Israel and bring about a second Holocaust.'?"

Allow me to state it flatly: Iran is a bloodthirsty religious dictatorship; Israel is a murderous police state. (As with America, the distinction between the two regimes and the people who live under them is of unspeakable magnitude.) As a libertarian—an individual who believes in absolute self-ownership and regards the initiation of physical force as the ultimate crime—I can see no reason to prefer one of them over the other. Tell me, would you rather be hanged or shot?

But we seem to be stuck with one of those cliche elephants in the parlor. It's unquestionably there. Everybody has to walk all the way around it to get from one corner of the room to another, as it chows down on the prized Bougainvillea and dumps elephant dung all over Aunt Ophelia's antique hand-hooked rug. But almost nobody wants to mention it, because then somebody might actually have to do something about it.

Here's what the elephant looks like: since the days when the Rev. Thomas Malthus embarrassed himself by predicting a catastrophe brought about by overpopulation—a catastrophe that has stubbornly failed to happen over the subsequent two hundred years and never will—people who loathe themselves, and are generously willing extend that loathing to the rest of us, have insisted, despite all evidence and experience that the good Rev. Tom was right—and something has to be done about it!

Malthusians have popped up here and there ever since. Baby Boomers will remember The Population Bomb, written by another idiot, Paul Ehrlich—still in the overpopulation mythology business after all these years, where else than at Stanford University—who made all sorts of end-of-the-world predictions that somehopw never came to pass, and were later appropriated by Albert Gore and blamed on an equally imaginary phenomenon, global warming. I often wonder whether, when Algore pays his carbon taxes, he writes a royalty check to Ehrlich.

All this would be funnier, except that, somewhere between Ehrlich bombing out and Waco Willy bombing aspirin plants, various government and quasi-governmental offices began to fill up with highly educated, excruciatingly gullible morons, to whom both the overpopulation myth and global warming became articles of a passionate and unchallengable religious faith rooted in that self-loathing I mentioned, and extended to the families, ethnicities, nationalities, and species of the self- loathers.

These were sorry specimens who shared a common mental illness that nearly everybody mistook for an ideology, who now had the political power to do something about it, or fondly anticipated that they soon would. They are found everywhere today, including corporations and the media, but are concentrated in the Democratic Party and the United Nations.

They started breeding wild bonnet-bees like "environmentalism", "sustainability", and "carrying capacity" to justify what they wanted to do to the life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness of their fellow human beings, and somewhere along the line, they started listening to Adolf Hitler's ghost—only this time we all get to be Jews.

Some parasitic thug high in the UN said he believed that there are about ten times as many human beings on this planet as there ought to be. I have no idea where he got that number; maybe Malthus manifested himself on a flaming pie (an expression I first heard Judy Henske use in the 1960s, Sir Paul Treehugger notwithstanding) and enlightened him. The implication was that adjustments of some kind needed to be made, although the official failed to specify. The sentiment has since been echoed by those close enough to Obama to smell his smoker's breath.

I have written of this before.

Add another element: Winston Churchill, Charles Darwin, Havelock Ellis, Norman Haire, John Harvey Kellogg, John Maynard Keynes, Linus Pauling, Theodore Roosevelt, Margaret Sanger, George Bernard Shaw, Marie Stopes, Sidney Webb, H.G. Wells, and a legion of "superior" specimens who anticipated Hitler in believing that it was morally acceptable to breed human beings—with or without their consent—like show animals or agricultural livestock, to produce an improved species.

Certainly there are too many people on Earth to be controlled by a Managerial State (which is what we have now) intent on a program like that.

And now for the smelliest, most obvious parts of the elephant:

Enormous tracts of land—dozens of them, by many reports—and hundreds of empty buildings, scattered across the country, fenced off with chain-link and razor-wire, and advertised (to the extent their existence is acknowledged at all) as Federal Emergency Management Agency refugee camps to be used to relocate "victims of natural disaster".

Like government: these are the same kind of facility used in Nicaragua by the Ortegas and their Sandinista regime to exterminate Miskito Indians by the thousands. Round 'em up, stuff 'em in, give them no food, water, shelter, or sanitary facilities until they're all dead. FEMA has stockpiled emergency rations, not enough to feed the inmates of their camps but to supply the guards and keepers. For their "clients" there are hundreds of thousands of gravesites and plastic coffins.

Andersonville.

Now and again in the news there have been other warnings. The National Guard in some states have been training in urban warfare. The theoretical villains they confront in their war games are those to whom the highest lw of the land, the Constitution—particularly the Bill of Rights, and most particularly the Second Amendment—is more important than unquestioning obedience to authority. What this means is the the Guard—your neighbors—are practicing to be the badguys: the Nazi SS, the Glorious People's Army, Imperial stormtroopers.

You and I get to be the rebel scum.

The Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Safety Administration have been buying guns and ammunition in unbelievable quantities, thousands of whatever they're calling M-16s these days, and _billions_ of rounds of ammunition, just as if they're planning for some kind of major dust-up. Through "fusion centers" around the country, where the federal government has taken over your local police, they're defining Constitutionalists, religious people, gun owners, opponents of fiat money and the Federal Reserve System, Ron Paul Suporters, and anybody else who stands for anything we were brought up to believe was fundamentally American, as "potential terrorists".

Handy word, "terrorism".

Having revealed his plans in advance, Obama has built a personal Army from the brutal, stupid dregs who grope grandma at the airport. He keeps our troops overseas in Afghanistan, Iraq, and a hundred other countries so they can't be here to save their own, and yet thousands of foreign troops, mostly Russians, are on American soil at his invitation, as he feigns outrage at Putin's actions in the Crimea. American troops who dribble back a handful at a time are pre-judged to have PTSD, and their privately-owned weapons confiscated without due process.

Physicians and other health professionals (even including dental assistants!) are pressed, under Obamacare, to discover which of their patients possess firearms, so that the same kind of pseudoscientific psychobabble can be used to strip them of their weapons. Libertarians and conservatives pretty much agree that private gun ownership is crucial, not just to the survival of freedom, but to the survival of humanity itself—apparently, so do the badguys. Every excuse they've ever made about the effect of gun possession on society is dicredited. The only reason they can possibly have for stealing everybody's guns is so they can do things to us they couldn't do if we still had our guns.

Allow me to repeat that, because it's all-important. The only reason government can possibly have for stealing everybody's guns is so it can do things to us that it couldn't do if we still had our guns.

The world they dream of is one that has been cleared of any sign of humanity. Buildings, roads, towns and cities will be billdozed and eradicated. The Earth will be "returned to nature"—the technical term is "rewilded"—and forbidden to our species. The small fraction of peasants they allow to live will be safely locked way in gigantic prison tenements called "arcologies" where they will work to serve the elite.

Public benefactors—the elites—will own secluded private resorts (the Russians call them "dachas") in the otherwise deserted wilderness, a well-deserved "gift" from a grateful public, where they can hunt, fish, drink, feast. and enjoy the attentions of the prettier peasant boys and girls they have selected from the arcologies to serve them.

And here the glorious history of the human race will sputter to an end. Nothing that has never happened before will ever happen. Mankind will never travel to the stars, meet alien people, or make another significant scientific discovery. There will be no new books written, no new plays, no new music—slaves don't write such things and neither do their masters. Our species will slowly fade until it is no more.

To individuals who love plants and animals more than their own kind, this idea is heaven. To the rest of us, with at least half a brain in our heads, and equipped with a working set of ethics, not to mention an aspiring imagination, those of us who dream of bigger, brighter, better things to come, this future must be prevented at any cost.

To start, ask Connecticut officials, elected and otherwise, why they are want everybody defenseless against ordinary violent crime, as well as political mass murder. Why are they enabling a New Holocaust? I know the question answers itself—they're dreaming of having one of those dachas and all the pretty slaves, as surely as a jihadi is said to dream of his twenty-seven virgins—but it's important to ask, as loudly and often as you can, for the benefit of those who are listening.

Ask them why our once-free country has become home to a criminal organization—the United Nations—with mass-murder plainly on its agenda. Getting the US out of the UN, and the UN out of the US—and for that matter, The UN out of North America—is a realizable objective.

There are also 101 years' worth of unconstitutional laws to be repealed, nullified, or otherwise disposed of, and unconstitutional agencies to abolish. There are criminals within them to be tried and punished.

But we have to acknowledge the elephant and move now.

There isn't much time left.
