Serve your church, your country, your community.
your family, not by invading somebody else's
civilization, but by taking care of yourself.
It's as simple as that. It really is.

EDITORIAL MATTERS A Note from the Publisher: Concerning Victim Disarmament
Mr. Littwin:
Your column today amounted to a whole lot of whistling
through the graveyard. It was almost fun to read. You
didn't mention, when you brayed about the hearing rooms
not being full, the terrible weather. But then I'd guess
you're a global warmer, too. Boo hoo.
Every man, woman, and responsible child has an unalienable
individual, civil, Constitutional, and human right to
obtain, own, and carry, openly or concealed, any weapon—rifle,
shotgun, handgun, machinegun, anything—any
time, any place, without asking anyone's permission.
I suggest you read the Second Amendment carefully, as well
as the Founders' correspondence about it. There is nothing
in any of it to contadict what I declared above, in a
speech I gave three decades ago.
How does it feel, now that you're the segregationist
governor standing in the shoolhouse door? How does it feel
to be the fat sheriff with mirrored sunglasses turning fire
hoses and ferocious dogs on people who simply want their
rights? How does it feel to be a Klansman cheering them on?
I lived through those days, anbd all I hear from you is the
same whining and excuses.
Like that governor and sheriff, and Klansman, your future is
all behind you.
The times they are a'changing.
L. Neil Smith
Indeed the times are a-changing. Have changed, and are goona change some more. "Onward through the fog!" as they used to say at Oat Willie's. Still say. All I can say about Globular Warming is that is sure is nice not to be so daggone cold. Although it looks like some parts of the country aren't all that warm. Where I live it's been "Unseasonably Warm". Woo hoo!
