Operation Jade Helm 15
by L. Neil Smith
I really don't want to write this, I'm very ill and very tired and I've been avoiding it. And why shouldn't I? I hope the predictions I'm about to make don't come true. If they do, then like so many predictions I've made, I'm a genius (once again) and that's the bad news. If they don't, I'll be the laughing-stock of journalism and the libertarian movement (not for the first time) and that's the good news.

You're a libertarian? So what?
by Adam Kokesh
Have you ever had that reaction from someone with whom you were trying to share the message of freedom? It's a great question, and one that our challengers don't ask often enough. "So what if you're right about everything? You're not much more free than I am. You still have a nine-to-five. You still pay taxes. You still complain about not being free all the time. In fact, you might be LESS free because you spend time complaining and arguing and reading the news and watching YouTube videos while I'm busy ENJOYING my not-so-free life."

You Say You Want....
by A.X. Perez
Should we have another revolution? Yes, we should. The police have gotten too blood thirsty. recently I heard one PD (Las Cruces, New Mexico) complain that losing the "right" to impose civil forfeiture without getting a conviction would cost them hundreds of thousands of dollar inoperating funds. The cops are not just killers, they are thieves.

Movie Review: Jurassic World
by Jeff Fullerton
For the last several weeks I've been working on a more comprehensive article on the latest plea of necessity regarding the bugaboos of invasive species and GMO. But it has been very busy between working overtime and a family crisis that has been taking up much of my time. So progress is slow and I loathe the idea of pushing to produce a half assed job because this journal and its readers deserve better. Also as time goes on—new information continues to emerge which may make for an even more interesting story when all is said and done.

Today being the Fourth of July, 2015, it is timely to review what L. Neil Smith wrote 30 years ago, in 1985, and what I have described as "the fulfillment of the promise of Jefferson's Declaration"

EDITORIAL MATTERS

Hey, look at this, L. Neil Smith's Pallas is the "Phoenix Pick Ebook of the Month for July 2015", along with bundles of his books for discounts. Time to stock up!

We have this from an anonymous correspondent:

I have been informed by a reliable source in law enforcement that cops take the Gadsden flag as a challenge and feel a moral imperative to harass people with "Don't Tread on Me Stickers". This is not policy, but rather a widespread sentiment on the part of LEO's.

The truth about a "truce" with the enemies of liberty (also enemies of truth, and of civilization):

No Truce With the Left
by Daniel Greenfield

To understand the left, you need to remember that it does not care about 99 percent of the things it claims to care about. Name a leftist cause and then find a Communist country that actually practiced it. Labor unions? Outlawed. Environmentalism? Chernobyl. The left fights all sorts of social and political battles not because it believes in them, but to radicalize, disrupt and take power.

The left does not care about social justice. It cares about power.

That is why no truce is possible with the left. Not on social issues. Not on any issues.

The left is a drunk in a bar trying to pick a fight with you. Trying to convince him that you didn't disrespect him, put something in his beer to make him dizzy or make his feet so heavy won't work. There's no 'agree to disagree' possible here. He's picking a fight with you because he wants a fight.

Remember that the next time you hear somebody trying to "smooth things over."

You know, it is a real pain when the people who make the text editor a feller is used to, up and decide to change various things so they work just different enough to cause a psychotic break to the poor user. I submit Komodo Edit 8 vs. Komodo Edit 9. Now really, was all that necessary?
