I have no source of "mainstream" news. No cable, no satellite dish, nothing. The closest are periodic breaks on blowtorch stations between segments of right wing talk shows. I do not feel particularly deprived. I read Breitbart's site and Matthew Drudge, and that's about that.

Well, now. There are calls from "scientists" asking the Feds to persecute "climate science denial" people using RICO. Now, we all know that science works by saying "is this true?" and then trying to find out—science without skeptics is just stupidity and wanking. For example, "climate science" seems to fit that bill precisely. Oh, wait, will I now be investigated under RICO?
