I Pledge Allegiance to the Fraud…
by L. Neil Smith
Right-wing conservative Republicans frequently accuse their exact
mirror-opposite counterparts on the Left of being more concerned with
appearances than actualities.
This is absolutely true, as far as it goes—the silliest
example is the preference liberals often express for concealed
weapons-carry over open carry; if they can’t see it
(shudder) they don’t have to think about it—but in
the symbolism-over-substance department it’s damned hard to beat
anybody anywhere to the right of Hubert Horatio Humphrey (look him
up—he was my generation’s live-action equivalent of Porky
Pig—except I think he wore trousers with his sportscoat and bow-
tie) for sheer, hysterical foaming-at-the-mouth fury when the subject
happens to be something like burning the American flag.

Mom & Dad, I Want To Be a Misanthrope!
by Nic Leobold
When I looked up the word a few years ago I discovered
‘misanthrope’ is a person who hates everyone, or in other
words, a person who hates all other people. How interesting! Why would Anyone hate all people?? Why would such
a person ever exist? Upon further reflection, however, the answer become a little more
clear.

Who's Crazy?
by Jim Davidson
Recently, one of the candidates for president representing one of
the two self-anointed “major” political parties
(she’d like me to mention her name) said that the Americans
supporting her opponent (he’d like me to mention his name) from
the other “major” party were in general terms, about half
in the “basket of deplorables.” Keep in mind that this
woman has frequently talked about taking guns away from all Americans,
which Machiavelli correctly noticed causes a person to be despised.
Being unarmed, he said, among the other harm it brings you, causes you
to be despised.

Against Islamophobia
by Sean Gabb
I am told every so often that Islam is necessarily a religion of
terrorism—that a true Moslem has no choice but to accept the
rightness of spreading and upholding his faith by violence, and that
any Moslem who denounces the murder and oppression of unbelievers is
either lying or not a true Moslem. These declarations of alleged
orthodoxy generally come from people who are unable to read The
Koran in Arabic, and who are unfamiliar with the two million
hadith, or sayings and doings of the Prophet, which are
variously binding on the faithful, and who have not made themselves
aware of the different schools of interpretation of these foundation
texts, and who have only a nodding acquaintance with the multiplicity
of sects that have arisen within Islam over the past fourteen hundred
years. Usually, they come from people who have not read the whole of
The Koran in English. Their ignorance, even so, is matched by
the certainty they bring to what they say about the nature of
“true” Islam.

It's Not Our Job To Correct Wrong-Thinking
by Paul Bonneau
I was looking at youtubes and articles linked here a week or two
ago, starting with Chris Cantwell’s “Top 10 Reasons Libertarians Aren’t
Nice To You”. I can’t help but think Chris misses the point here.
Certainly, it must have been satisfying to deliver this whack, and
might even have, here and there, a salubrious effect—much as a
2x4 across the nose might occasionally provide.

Dissing Snowden
by L. Reichard White
In tandem with the release of Oliver Stone’s excellent biopic
Snowden this week, there’s also a resurgence of the effort to discredit
NSA whistle-blower Edward Snowden. I don’t need to suggest who might be interested in doing that.

The Litmus Test for Agorism
by J. Neil Schulman
Samuel Edward Konkin III, and I, co-founded what today is called
Agorism or the Agorist movement. Sam was Agorism’s chief theoretician in published
works such as The New Libertarian Manifesto (1980) and The Agorist Primer
(1986). Before that Sam introduced counter-economics in his talks to the CounterCon
conferences I organized in fall 1974 and spring 1975. The first printed explication of
Agorism was in my novel, Alongside Night (Crown Publishers, 1979).

Well, now. I hope you all are working at being as deplorable as possible. We know Hillery would like us all to be in chains, if not dead. That's rude, don't you think? Deplorable!
Oh yes, someone said I should not say “Hitlery” on account of it was disrespectful. Sorry Adolph, didn't mead to disrespect ya by equating you with deplorable her. Er… okay now.
Sarah Hoyt has mentioned that Somebody has finally stepped up and started trying to help liberty-loving writers/artists/filmers, etc. to network and get 'er done.

About past time, I'd say.
If the AR-15 is America’s Rifle, I have no problem with that, although I much prefer the operating system of the M1 Garand (M-14, M1a, Ruger Mini-14 and Mini-30). But one thing really irritating about the AR-15 is that 5.56x45mm prairie dog cartridge it uses (a.k.a. .223 Remington). Well, now we have a new cartridge which is nothing more than the 5.56 case necked-up to take a 0.257-inch bullet:

Install a new barrel (kits at the Sharps site). Neck-up yer .223 brass to 25-caliber and turn yer AR-15 poodle-shooter into a real rifle! Wow!
