Attribute to L. Neil Smith’s The Libertarian Enterprise
We may not have an issue for you next week due to this and that or we may have one. It is hard to explain.
Speaking of which, the best book about the difference between fact and opinion is Mortimer J. Adler’s The Conditions of Philosophy [hardback or papberback from Amazon.com.] Actually it is the best book about philsosophy or meta-philosophy (philosophy of philosophy?) I’ve ever read. Seek it out! (The paperback edition is on really bad paper.)
A list of books that I've read recently and recommend to you
for your reading pleasure:
Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning by Jonah Goldberg
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
Between Planets by Robert A. Heinlein
Trustee from the Toolroom by Nevil Shute
Beethoven's Hair: An Extraordinary Historical Odyssey and a Scientific Mystery Solved by Russell Martin
Berlioz and His Century: An Introduction to the Age of Romanticism by Jacques Barzun
The Goblin Reservation by Clifford D. Simak
The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers
Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
Kim by Rudyard Kipling
The Philosophical Breakfast Club: Four Remarkable Friends Who Transformed Science and Changed the World by Laura J. Snyder
Read ’em all, you’ be glad you did!
Was that worth reading?
