Our Publisher, L. Neil Smith, and his wife Cathy came through our town last week. There is a photograph, but I do not have a copy, alas. On the other hand, who wants to look at a picture of two old men, eh? I missed his birthday party, held about a hundred miles of so from here, because my wife was ill and I was not feeling so good myself. That is one thing you can look forward to when you get old: not feeling good. It is always an effort to decide “Am I sick?, or just old?.”

Yer can parody Marx not much because it is already a parody of itself. But, apparently in France the spectre is not quite strong enough. The collectivists have been defeated (somewhat) in America (somewhat I said!), and in Great Britian (somewhat), but France… always behind while claiming to be The Western Culture Leader.
