For those of you who are unfamiliar with the work of Lauren Southern, she is a former reporter for a conservative news show produced in Canada, called Rebel Media. She is renowned for causing controversy when she went to what was referred to as a �Slut Walk� where feminists walk around in various stages of undress to protest �Rape Culture.� First Southern tried interviewing several of the attendees only to get answers that proved how out of touch with reality these third wave lunatics really were. I laughed hysterically when one of the attendees asked Lauren what the solution was to cat calling. Her response was �Certainly not walking around in my underwear.� Though her most controversial deed at the Slut Walk was to hold up a sign that said that there was no Rape Culture in the West, which angered many members of The Libertarian Party in Canada so much that they actually tried to expel her from the party.

Lauren Southern is one of those rare millennials who is beautiful, witty and intelligent enough to take on the left-wing establishment instead of blindly following it like most people in her generation. Now I know that there are many of you who are probably going to say that her views are not libertarian enough for your taste. It is actually Southern who said it best, that among the conservatives, she is more libertarian. Among the libertarians, she is more conservative. Though I will say that she is definitely more libertarian than the social justice pansies that tried to boot her out of The Libertarian Party.

Regardless of how you may fell about her brand of libertarianism, I recommend checking out her book, Barbarians: How Baby Boomers, Immigrants and Islam Screwed My Generation. [Kindle] and [paperback] In the book, she talks about how Western Civilization has been in decline and one of the culprits are Baby Boomers. I can definitely say that Southern isn�t the first and probably won�t be the last to call the �Me� generation the worst. I have even heard people refer to it as narcissistic and downright sociopathic.

She then goes on to blame the massive migration of Muslim immigrants for the decline of Europe. While there are many other reasons for Europe�s decline, all of which are self-inflicted, Southern is certainly right that the migration of Muslims certainly hasn�t helped. I know that there are many people who would call Lauren Southern Islamophobic, though I do want to point out that she made it perfectly clear that she knows that not all Muslims are terrorists. I personally think that goes without saying. However, it�s not good for any society to have a massive migration of people who have no interest in assimilating, but are instead intent on taking over large areas of the nation and implementing their own laws. This is exactly what we are seeing in Europe. Southern even points out that there was an instance where a Muslim in Canada was allowed to disobey the country�s anti-discrimination laws by refusing to rent an apartment to a disabled person who happened to be a non-Muslim. I know that are some who would say that these Muslim owners were exercising their freedom of association, which I would have no objections, if it weren�t for the fact that no another group was given the same exemption by the Canadian government.

The book wouldn�t be complete without Southern taking potshots at academia, which has allowed college campuses to become indoctrination centers instead of places of higher learning. Southern even related her own experiences when she had to take a course with a professor that liked to punish any student who didn�t share his same worldview. She would later have to face his wrath when she let her own viewpoints be known.

There is one section where Lauren Southern advocates for policies that are more nationalist in nature. Understandably there are many libertarians who are going to take issue with this, since nationalism has been used as an excuse throughout history for governments to grab more power at the expense of individual freedom. However, what Southern is advocating is more along the lines of Canada and the United States creating policies that favor their citizens. I would say that as long as we still have a strong free trade policy, I may get behind that. Hell, I decided in the last election that I will take a nationalist over an American-hating Alinsky disciple any day of the week. I know that there are many libertarians who are going to have disagreements with some of Southern�s positions, but I recommend keeping an open mind and hearing her out.
