Sticks And Stones
by L. Neil Smith
We have come to be living in a world where the
use of the wrong word (or even worse, the right one) can be regarded
as a criminal act. Refer to a member of the sexually-confused
profession by a pronoun they didn’t make up, and in some places
(Canada, for example, where the light of the First Amendment never
shines, or California, where it’s about to be extinguished) and
you can end up in the slammer, or owing some voracious loonie a whole
lot of money.

Deep in the Heart of Taxes
by J. Neil Schulman
Remember me? I’m the guy who wrote
Alongside Night, a novel about the United States’ economy
collapsing due to the Federal Reserve inflating the dollar to pay for
the government spending far more than taxes collected.

Mad About Freedom: Is a Positive Revolution Possible?
by Madison Nason
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what
it actually takes to start a revolution, and if it can be done from a
defensive and passive standpoint rather than an aggressive one. Must
we murder, beat, degrade to capture the attention of the masses? Must
we assassinate? I truly believe that course of action will only lead
to failure.

The Big Lie
by Sean Gangol
Recently I read Dinesh D’Souza’s
book, The Big Lie: Exposing the Nazi Roots of the American
Left, which has become a national bestseller. This isn’t a
review of the book per say, but the discussion of its thesis. The one
trend that has been driving me to the brink of insanity, is the left
freely throwing around words such as Nazi and fascist at anyone who
doesn’t share their ideas. If you support Donald Trump,
you’re a Nazi. If you think identify politics is toxic (even if
it does include White Nationalism), you’re a Nazi. If
you’re against open borders, you’re a Nazi. As far as
they are concerned it is reasonable to compare all forms of
opposition to the evil that was obliterated all those decades ago.

Customs Change
by Jim Davidson
In last week’s essay, I pointed out the similarities between Rome in the
latter days of its republic form of government and the current situation
with Mordor on the Potomac. Extortion, mass murder, and parasitism
prevail. What Rome was in 89 BC, Washington DC is today, though the
volume of graft, extortion, and death is certainly higher for the last
100 years than it was in Sulla’s time. This week, I’d like to point out
the frivolous nature of the idea that a constitution is going to limit government.

Voting
by A.X. Perez
I admit it, I’m a single issue voter. I
vote pro-2nd Amendment. Don’t get to go shooting much, usually
only own one gun at a time because I can’t afford two, and I do
so much business in gun free zones that my gun spends most of its
time in a drawer or car glove box. But I guarantee I will use that
gun to forcibly protect my ownership of it, and all my other
rights, until I run out of ammunition and have to pick up a dead
foeman’s gun to keep fighting. And I’m sure there are a
lot of Americans who feel the same way.

A Whale of a Tale
An Open Letter to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals
by L. Neil Smith
In a series of novels I’m writing, called “The Ngu Family Saga”,
there is a character, a special favorite of mine, Julie Segovia Ngu,
who writes children’s books. Julie’s books are anti-authoritarian, and
circulate all over the 22nd century Solar System, except in places,
like East America, where authoritarianism is still practiced. In such
places, her books are banned, which, of course, makes them even more
popular.
