A little “hate speech” (whatever that is)
now and again is vastly more desirable than
socialist—or any other kind of—thought control.

Attribute to L. Neil Smith’s The Libertarian Enterprise

Well, I see that my Facebook page has once again been edited for me by the pencil-necked morons who think they are better than I am, or know more than I do. I happen to be 72 years old at this writing, and have spent every hour of it learning. I am and have always been a social egalitarian. More than anything, I am an advocate and lifelong warrior for free speech. I have now pulled my metaphorical sword out of storage and am polishing and oiling it as we speak.

It is always sharp as a razor.

As I once said of the Smith & Wesson company, just before they went bankrupt three times in a row, Facebook must die, and along with it, Google, Twitter, Youtube, and any other cyber-entity whose orc-like minions believe they have a right to censor our opinions while collecting and enriching themselves on our commercially-valuable data. I even heard yesterday that Patreon, in its uttermost lack of intelligence (let alone wisdom), had self-righteously “de-platformed” that celebrated thinker Carl “Sargon of Akkad” Benjamin because some pisswit didn’t like him using the forbidden N-word. Can you say “infantile”?

I hope you see this Carl; I want you to know that I want to be just like you when I grow up.

I watched Google’s Geek-in-Chief Sundar Pichai condescend to testify before Congress this week about his company’s detestable bias against conservatives and libertarians and why he and his ilk suck up to murderous kleptocratic regimes like communist China (redistribution of human organs—what a concept!). I doubt that I have ever heard smarmier, muddier, shallower, less truthful, more abusive and arrogant testimony in my life. It’s very hard to describe it adequately. Pichai should have left that room with a yard-long nose and his pants reduced to ashes. If I can judge from his accent, he is an immigrant. He is a massively, disgracefully, ungrateful immigrant, eager to extract a fortune—somebody mentioned $100,000,000 a year—out of the individual liberty he’s now defecating on.

Now I know, better than anybody else, how short the soapbox is that I stand on to deliver these sermons. But I swear, if it takes the remainder of my life, I am going to make life impossible for elitist idiots like Pichai until there is no more censorship of any kind on the Internet. Let me repeat that so there can be no misunderstanding: no more censorship of any kind is acceptable on the Internet. This is fucking America, for godsake. A little “hate speech” (whatever that is) now and again is vastly more desirable than socialist—or any other kind of—thought control.

I fought my high school principal, the best that I could, over my freedom to write columns in the school newspaper without his editorial “assistance”. I battled with my friend, the otherwise distinguished founder of the Libertarian Party, after I wrote a column calling his baby “tiny and insignificant”. (It was—and still is—I wanted to talk about how to change that.) I have fought book editors and publishers throughout my professional life, producing about 37 books despite their egregious interference, and hundreds, if not thousands of essays and columns like this one. Probably as a result, my only reward, for the most part, has been my freedom to write as I see fit.

To repeat: if it takes the remainder of my life, I am going to make life impossible for these idiots, and I want you to help me. Please write to me with your ideas about how to change this situation without denying ourselves or losing a technological revolution that I believe to be as important, historically, as the invention of the printing press itself. Let L. Neil Smith’s The Libertarian Enterprise become a beacon and clearing-house for our struggle to regain our First Amendment freedoms. Your contributions help, as well.
