Like all good novels, this one tries also to
be about life and death, love and hate, beauty
and ugliness, intelligence and stupidity,
and, most importantly, good and evil.

JPFO spearheads effort to stop glorifying killers and copycats
The Don't Inspire Evil program has been promoted nationwide
through news releases, radio and TV interviews and public
appearances.
It is now up prominently on JPFO's website, with a link on the left
side of the home page, showing numerous national groups in support
of the effort:
jpfo.org
Many news and activist groups are adopting this or similar
policies. Your reporters and editors should adopt the ethical
position and limit the exposure criminals seek. Your company should
join those endorsing the program. It's easy.
Visit the page.
We know copycats are encouraged by the glorification mass media
heaps on mass murderers and jihadis. It's time for the "golden age
of crime worship" to end, and journalists to regain a moral footing.
Take a look. Encourage your news group, staff and your friends
to participate. Adopt the ethical guideline into your ethics
code.
Don't be afraid to scold media outlets that continue to promote
mass murder. That is not an exercise in free speech. It is an
exercise in evil. Send them the link:

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, http://www.jpfo.org is America's most aggressive civil-rights organization, dedicated to destroying the notion of "gun control” as any kind of credible public-policy position. So-called "gun control” does not control guns and doesn't control criminal behavior. What it does do is disarm the innocent, leaving them helpless in the face of criminals, tyrannical governments and genocide. History repeatedly proves this fact. Founded in 1989 by Aaron Zelman as a response to the Holocaust, JPFO speaks with the moral authority and tenacious commitment of survivors of persecution, and knows that surrendering your personal and family safety to government protection courts disaster. "You don't have to be Jewish to fight by our side, you just have to love liberty.”

Isaac Arthur Continues to Amaze
If you are into SF or an aspiring writer; Isaac Arthur has new videos coming out on YouTube every Thursday. This week’s edition features “Parasitic Aliens”—and is a tribute to John W Campbell’s “Who Goes There”—the novelette that Hollywood turned into The Thing from Another World in 1952 and the John Carpenter remake of the 1980s that is actually much closer to the Campbell original. Mr Arthur has does a splendid job introducing other SF masterpieces that tie into his documentaries including works by Larry Niven, Arthur C. Clarke, Robert A. Heinlein, and a newer author that I am less familiar with—Ian Banks who apparently created the concept of a continent sized space habitat referred to as a “Banks Orbital.”
Mr Arthur’s videos have continued to improve over time with better artistry and editing and the themes this season are especially rich and informing. The most recent entries include farming in space, solar power satellites and O’Neill cylinders which are the essential ingredients for growing a class two or Kardeshev level two civilization that transcends the resource limitations of its home planet and created the economic and technology base for supporting interstellar travel and colonization.
I am looking forward to his upcoming work on “Exporting Earth” which details the creation of terrestrial ecosystems in space habitats and on terraformed planets. That was the one thing that made the ideas of Gerard K. O’Neill so appealing to me. Part of the thing that makes the idea of living in space so unappealing to many is its portrayal in a lot of SF as a stark, sterile artificial environment that is often cramped, dark and gothic. As opposed to the inside of a spacious cylinder or sphere flooded with sunlight and filled with a diversity of plant and animal life. I definitely would want to take my plants and critters along and leaving uncontrolled weather, blights and invasive species behind.
In the Parasitic Aliens episode, Mr Arthur maintains that encounters with face-hugging/chest-busting and shape shifting life forms capable of mimicking human beings is unlikely because of differences between terrestrial and extraterrestrial biology—but doesn’t rule it out altogether. It is a big universe after all and anything is possible since we’ve only begun to scratch the surface of what’s out there.

Major_____ de Coverly
If you ever read Catch 22 you may remember the Great Loyalty Oath Crusade. Somebody got a bee in their bonnet about requiring loyalty oaths. You couldn’t get you orders without reciting three or four of the things and signing a couple of others, ditto meals.
Eventually a particular hard case combat pilot, Major ______ de Coverly shows up in the mess hall and responds to be asked to sign a loyalty oath, “Gimme eats.” He gets his eats and the Crusade ends.
Given the demands for non stop virtue-signaling and political correctness demanded by both sides of the political debate in this country, we need Major ____ de Coverly now.
