Back in 2000 then candidate for President George W. Bush was called to task because Texas did not have hate crime law. The example was brought up of the murder of Black man by dragging him to death behind a pick up truck. Bush pointed out that two of the killers were sentenced to death (they have since been executed and good riddance to bad cess) and the third sentence to life without parole. Mr. Bush asked how their sentences could have been made harsher by a hate crime enhancement of the charges against them.
In this modern age the appearance of racism (actually bigotry) has become the great unforgivable sin, just as sex was during the Victorian Era and violence was during the Hippie Era. Thus a fuss is made that LBJ used the N word in private conversation and his role in pushing through the various civil rights laws as a Senate Democratic leader, vice president, and President is minimized or even ignored. Johnson was evil in so many ways, but his support of civil rights is unquestionable.
I'm concerned that on both sides of the Atlantic we are ruled by politicians who object to calling people by pejorative ethnic names applied to members of persecuted groups, they just want to treat us all as if we belonged to those groups. Put another way, there is a group who perceive themselves as the masters of society and view the rest of us as equally their slaves regardless of race, color, or creed.

I agree! No mention must be made of the Nazi invasion of Poland or France. No mention of the Japanese in the attack on Pearl Harbor. No mention of who committed the Holocaust or the Holodomor. No mention of the Allies in the bombing of Dresden, Hiroshima, or Nagasaki.
No mention of Osama bin Laden in the 9/11/2001 attacks!
Don't give these criminals the publicity they crave!
