Where No Libertarian Has Gone Before
by L. Neil Smith
(Presented Friday, April 26, 1996, at the
Colorado Libertarian Party Annual Convention First published in Issue
Number 8, May 1996) Depending on how you look at these things, I’ve
been a science fiction writer for 19 or 29 years. During all that time, it
seems to me there’s always been some editor or agent on the phone, whining
into my ear about how bad the business is lately.

The-Verse
by Sarah A. Hoyt
One of the strange things about the left, born of
their ideological overlay on the world, is that they are so often right in
all the wrong ways. Take diversity, for instance (I’m not using it.) They
are forever complaining about the lack of diversity here or there or that
other place, as well as trying to advance diversity by law, by dictating
the “correct” proportions of people in any position or organization.

Immobiliser Twenty
by Jim Davidson
Ben Stone stood next to his truck. As first on the
scene, he was incident commander. His first move had been to get his teams
across the Dolores River. The highway running down the Paradox valley from
east to West through Bedrock and just South of Paradox, Colorado highway
90, made a slight curve to the South to reach the Dolores River bridge,
then immediately curved back to the north to rejoin its line of approach
toward Bedrock. Getting east of the river provided access to bluffs
overlooking the road, closer on the South side than the north. Ben wanted
the high ground.

Norseman’s Diaries 2020: The Milestone Year
by Jeff Fullerton
Finally it’s over. The old year and a week from
hell—7 consecutive days working in which I didn’t get much at all done at
home. Did get out a little bit to do stuff one day and got my propane. It
was probably delivered yesterday as this morning I noticed the tell tale
ruts of a truck that came in and the tank is now 80 percent full. Enough
to get the greenhouse through the winter.
