In What World
So recently I listened to an interview with Mike Bloomberg. In it he began by suggesting that magazine capacity for rifles should be limited to three because if you can’t hit a deer with three shots you’re a pretty lousy shot.
After the last church shooting was busted up by a member of the congregation who was also the church’s security boss killing the shooter Bloomberg stated only police should use guns to prevent crime, civilians should wait to get rescued.
“If you need help I’m only 20 minutes away.” — Longmire
I think my local PD has 11 minute response time. I’m pretty sure Bloomie’s bodyguards are a little faster.
In Bloomie’s world civilians only use guns for hunting, so they just need a few shots to keep it sporting, bodyguards keep people safe, so no one needs to go armed or use force to defend themselves.
Must be nice.

Was that worth reading?
Then why not:
Thought for the Day
If (solely for the sake of argument) there is no God, then there is no benevolence in Creation, and no authority save tyrannical force to deny any individual the natural right to self defense.
Since God Himself has not denied the right to self defense and defense of others, any secular authority that denies the natural right to self defense, and attempts to use arms to disarm the populace, is a tyranny in rebellion against God.
Without the right to self defense, there can be no right to life. Life exists only at the convenience, competence, and benevolence of the tyrant who forbids the right to bear arms, and the benevolence of those evil persons who take advantage of enforced helplessness.

Update on my Health
Dear Friends and Family,
Quite a few of you have expressed concerns about my recent health situation, so it seemed appropriate to provide a brief update. Further information is available on request.
First, the good news. I was able to walk a mile today. Halfway through, I did take anti-inflammatories (white willow bark, Omega3) to correct some tightness in my chest. So my heart seems to be largely undamaged and healing well.
Next, the general details. In late January I was sick with flu and it infected my left lung. That's been a familiar sensation since 2005-2014 I had a lung infection every winter due to the damage from the severe beating by the police in Houston in 2004. Did quite a lot of things to support my immune system in the weeks since then. The flu symptoms went away after about 10 days, came back briefly last weekend, and are now gone. However, there was a lot of chest pain, especially when exercising.
If you'd like more information on the things I did to promote healing, please let me know. If you'd like to see the first 18 chapters of the novel I'm writing, please say so.
