Re: Tag—You’re Dead!, by L. Neil Smith

“have convinced everybody else that “property is theft”. And they ought to know, since much of what they acquire is stolen“.

Best comeback to Marxism I’ve ever heard!

Ann Richards

Dear Editor and Al,

Re: “History Review”, by A.X. Perez

It was not Kay Bailey Hutchinson who vetoed carry in 1993 or so. It was the perfidious Ann Richards. You can, as they say, look it up.

Some politicians are more notorious than others. The story of the 1992 election whereby Clayton Williams lost by shooting his own self in the foot telling a horrid joke about the weather is sufficient to remind them to keep their foolishness to themselves.

Re: [Previous letter]

You are absolutely right. Teach me not to double check stuff I “know” is right. Did double check everything with dates. Also, The fact that it took people working hard to get from situation in 1991 to situation now is reminder, reclaiming lost freedom and defending all freedom is hard work.

Re: [Previous letter]

Dear Editor,

It probably should also be mentioned that the gun control law in Texas originated with the infamous "carpet bagger scalawag" legislature of 1868. They were not very nice people and felt that "freed men" should not have guns on them when going out in public.

Obviously they left it to the discretion of sheriffs and county constables to enforce the law limiting gun carrying. As you may guess, persons the law enforcers liked were free to carry and those not liked were not. Such was the situation in Texas until the Luby’s massacre.

Re: [Previous letter]

Let us never forget that the 1868 legislature was Imposed on Texas to enforce Radical Reconstruction. RR had two goals, to get rid of Post war Black Codes (AKA Jim Crow Laws) intended to deny Black Texans their full rights as free Americans, a good thing, and to guarantee the power of the Radical Republicans which was not a good thing. These laws were nominally meant to reduce violence, not so nominally, violence aimed at resisting Radical Republican rule.

As Jim mentions, law was selectively enforced. It remained In place With some modification until Bush signed act allowing concealed carry with a license. During this entire time it was legal to carry long guns in public as long as you did not create undue public alarm, but no handguns.

Dopey Joe?

First he cuts back oil and gasoline production by breaking off Keystone pipeline and restricting oil and gas exploration/pumping from ground, then he orders investigation into illegal activity pushing gasoline prices up. This is the same guy who recommends firing warning shots and firing through doors. Also, who runs off at the mouth about punishing people before he knows if they are actually guilty. (this last is something he shares with other politicians but it fits into a pattern.)

I so look forward to the GOP and DINO’s (figure it out) taking over Congress in the 2022 elections

Recently a nameless anti-gun group sent me an email requesting I sign a petition and/or donate. I share my response with you and give you permission to use when you receive similar requests from similar groups:

Y’all are morons. I am not dropping my name from your mailing list because I’m having too much fun mocking you for being “useful idiots” and puppets of people who wish to enslave the rest of the US, including you.
