“Gun control is the idea that it‘s better to see a woman dead in an alley, strangled
with her own pantyhose, than to see her with a gun in her hand.”—T.D. Melrose

AntiSmokers: Get a Life!
by L. Neil Smith
*BLAST FROM THE PAST* I’ve had a long, thoughtful letter from someone who likes my writing (he mentions me in the same breath as Rand and Bob Wilson!) and is beginning to think that he may be a Libertarian. Like many another beginner (yours truly, back in the 60s) he has a little sticking-point he can’t get past, and he isn’t being helped in his moral struggle by government or the popular culture. That isn’t what government or the popular culture are for, after all. On the contrary.

Working With What We Have
by Sarah A. Hoyt
Not long ago, a friend—the same one who lost his job in Academia, in the Northeast last year for being too white, too Christian, too male—was surveying the people we know who are trying, however ineffectively to fight the good culture war and said “The kids are confused, mal-educated, not very well read, but full of fight and vigor. And their hearts are generally in the right place. We’ll be all right. We just have the scrappy band of losers to save the world, and we will save it.” (Which is part of what he’s working on.)

Resurrection Night
by Harding McFadden

Weapons of Mass Disclosure
by Jim Davidson
You can stop worrying now. Julian Assange’s last attempts to avoid extradition to the communist dictatorship of the Brandon Usurpation have failed.  He will now be tried in the United States by a kangaroo court which will lie about the evidence, prevent him from making a defence, and in all other ways destroy his life.  He will be tortured and murdered by the people who each individually swore an oath to uphold and defend the constitution which they, by attacking Assange’s freedom to publish, are holding as a useless grade of toilet paper.

Another Norseman’s Diaries Supplemental:
Vacation in Paradise

by Jeff Fullerton
Saturday evening and the day and first vacation week is nearing an end. Only one more to go and back to Covid Land—but it’s probably just regular ER bedlam because I’ve not heard much about the virus lately on the news since the world has found other things to worry about.
